Meeting at 5:00 p.m., I rode out on my motorcycle again today. The day before, I had to prepare for the Mtg. meeting to be held in Nagoya tomorrow morning.
The meeting was held in Toyosu and I parked in a parking lot. The meeting was in Toyosu, so I parked in the parking lot of Lalaport.Free for the first 5 hours, then 150 yen every 2 hours. The price is very reasonable.
I was exhausted after work, and I didn't want to leave the parking lot, so I took a coffee break.
I opened a package of ketchup while I was on the phone for work, and unknowingly poured the entire amount into my iced coffee.
We had an accident, but all we had to do was go home. If we took the Metropolitan Expressway, we could be home in no time, but that would be boring, so we went around the Odaiba area and headed home.
I was driving along looking at the Ferris wheel at Venus Fort in Qinghai when I saw a black mass on the road ahead of me: .......... There was a moped and a person lying on their side.......
I hurried to a stop with my hazards on. I went to the collapsed rider. Apparently, he had collided with a one-box parked in front of him. The people who were riding in the box were getting out of it.
The people involved were in a panic, so I called the police and emergency services to make sure the riders were okay.
I won't go into details, but it was an accident caused by the fact that the moped's lights still looked far away. I also drive a car, so I know what I'm talking about, but it's hard to tell the speed of a motorcycle from a car. When you think you're still far away, you'll find yourself close by in a flash. I guess this is the cause of many right turns.
Fortunately, the rider was not seriously injured, so I was able to witness the scene inspection for a little while before heading home, but it made me think again about how I should ride with caution.
