Have you ever heard of the Snow Corridor?
This is what the road looks like.
This is a wonderful road that I would like to visit at least once, where a wall of snow has formed on both sides as a result of plowing to make the road passable in a heavy snowfall area.
The Echo Line, which runs at the highest altitude in Japan, and the Hachimantai Aspite Line in Tohoku are famous, but the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen Route, which is within a day trip from the city center, actually has this as well.
Well, this article is written by a guy who found out about this fact "after returning home from touring".........

It's been a while since it hasn't rained & I have no work schedule on Saturday. I went out touring.
Chichibu."Omebufudokoro Umeda-ya"Let's eat tofu dishes and enjoy hot springs and winding roads at ...... I thought I was going to leave the house, but I found myself attacking the Kanetsu Highway into Gunma.
It was my first trip to Gunma this year. I got off at the Shibukawa-Ikaho Interchange and went to a hot spring. To Kusatsu.
Ate dinner and went to the Nishi-no-kawara open-air bath. There was more to do after that, so I went to the baths.
I didn't take the time to take a bath this time, but you can see the huge outdoor hot spring from Google Earth.
I'm not interested in hot springs. I was in my late twenties thinking, "Why don't I just take a bath at home? When I was in my late 20s, I thought, "Why not just take a bath at home?
I wasn't planning to come here in the first place, so I looked at the map on my phone and wondered what I should do after this.
I wondered if there would still be snow if I went to Manza or something. .... When I zoomed in on the map, I saw the words Shiga-Kusatsu Road.
I'm pretty sure Coco loves to read in the bathroom.Bikejin(neophyte)The April issue features a spectacular roadThis is the road that was introduced in the book.
If that happens, we have no choice but to go. If you go to the end of the road, you'll end up in Nagano, but there is a road that branches off to Manza about halfway down the road, so you can go home via Karuizawa.
So, after enjoying a nice winding ride, we headed home.
WG-M1I also took a video of the race and will post it after I edit it.
After I got home, I finished reporting to my friends on Facebook and checked the motorcycle community on Facebook....... Everyone was taking pictures of the snow corridor on the Shiga-Kusatsu-Kogen route..........
What? Is there one in Gunma? I've been down that road, but there wasn't enough snow left to make a wall like that.
In a panic, I googled it.
The Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen Route is a 41-km mountain tourist road connecting Yudanaka and Shibu hot spring villages in Nagano Prefecture and Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture. The road passes through the highest point of the national highway (2,172m above sea level), and is a popular driving route with views of the Northern Alps, the mountains of Joshu, and even Mt.
The section from Yosaka in Nagano Prefecture to Tenguyama in Kusatsu-machi, Gunma Prefecture is closed for the winter from mid-November, but will be lifted and reopened in late April. And the best part of this season is the spectacular drive through the snow corridor.
"Amazing! A springtime drive through a corridor of snow to the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen Route" (Travel.jp)Quoting from
Seriously? ..... Where's the highest point on the highway?

It's only 4km away from the Manza turnoff.............
I think I'll go again tomorrow: .....orz
