Sunday, fine weather. With no work, it was time to go touring. I left my house at 9:30 in the morning.
I haven't been touring with my NInja lately.......
I had reserved this one for Sunday to help fill the empty bike rental slots.
I was touring the other day.883 was unexpectedly good. So, this time, it's a 1200 Sportster. And the most popular Forty-Eight model.
I rented a car at 11:00 in Wako. We went straight from the outer ring road to the Kan-etsu and went to ..... Today's destination wasThe snow corridor of the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route, which was a frustrating experience last year.。
I need to return the car to the store before 8:00 p.m., so I'll be heading to Kusatsu at a reasonable pace there.
I'll write about this Sportster in a separate impression article, but according to the rental bike shop "It only goes about 100km on a full tank, so be careful." So we took two breaks for refueling on the way, but other than that, we drove nonstop all the way to the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route.
Well, the weather was super nice. The air was clear and pleasant for the first time this season in Gunma. After all, this is better than Izu...... As I climbed up in altitude, I was thinking: .......
This is where I wanted to run!
The spectacular scenery
When I came here this time, I realized that the reason why I couldn't see the snow corridor last year was simply because there was not enough snow. From the beginning of the drive from Kusatsu Onsen, I was already thinking that there was more snow than last year: ..... But as we approached Shibutoge (Shibu Pass), the road was already like this.
This is a great road that makes me want to lecture myself for not taking video with my bike and action cam. Despite the overwhelming wall of snow, the road surface was dry with no icy spots. You can ride without any worries at all.
After taking pictures, we went to Shibutoge (Shibu Pass) as usual.
I'm sure I'll be back many more times this year....... I took the usual photo at the highest point of the Japanese national highway. The Shiga-Kusatsu-Kogen route was just opened on Friday, so the traffic was less than I expected, and I was able to find a smooth shooting point.
As expected, we were a bit tired after riding all the way to here. Speaking of resting at Shibutoge, this is also a familiar place.
I haven't eaten anything since this morning, but unfortunately the cafeteria (Nagano Prefecture) is already closed. After refreshing myself in the restroom in Nagano Prefecture, I go to the coffee shop (Gunma Prefecture) for a cup of coffee.
At this point, the time was about 15:00, I think. It took 4 hours from Wako. Because it was an American without a cowl, I was able to cruise at 80~90km/h on the highway, and even after I got off the highway, I was able to slip through the traffic.
So we have 5 hours left until the scheduled return time of 8pm. Considering that we would have to eat on the way and take more breaks than on the outward trip, we might as well keep going back.
I can't believe I came to Kusatsu and left without even taking a bath.
But at this point, Yahoo! Smartphone Navi-kun says, "We'll be there around 7:20 p.m.!" At this point, however, Yahoo! I couldn't take a bath, but I could at least afford to eat curry at the SA on the way. .......
Yes, it was an accidental traffic jam....... Kanetsu: .......
I check the estimated time of arrival on my smartphone navigation system every time I refuel 100km, but even though I'm driving at a good pace, the estimated time of arrival is getting later and later even before I get on the highway....... The rental itself is rented for 24 hours a day, so I could return the car at 11:00 the next day, but it's too much trouble to go to Wako Kundari just for that!(-_-)
I had no choice but to hurry home with less rest and more passing through.........
It was 7:50 p.m. when I left the Wako Interchange, filled up my tank, and slipped into the store........
Renting a bike is fun, but the downside is the limited return time..........
The snow corridor on the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route is recommended because it is thought to still have a little bit of snow, if only in areas with a lot of snow.
