October 10th.It was even chosen as the date for the opening ceremony of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.highly unlikely day (according to old almanacs)。The weather was fine again this year after the rain in the first half of the three-day weekend subsided.
It was 5:00 a.m. and I hadn't been able to sleep since the day before. I had no choice but to take a bath in the morning.
In a little while, we won't be able to go to the mountains because of the cold and fear of freezing, so we'll have to find a destination.Kusatsu Onsen Otaki-no-yuI took a nap in the onsen. This is a rare day spa in Kusatsu where you can take a nap in the tatami room. I left at a time when I thought I would arrive before they opened, so I drove down the road for a while and then took the Kan-etsu highway.
We arrived at 9:30 a.m., 30 minutes after the store opened, but the parking lot was already almost full. There were also quite a few motorcyclists. Kusatsu has many hot springs with source temperatures ranging from about 50 to 90 degrees Celsius, or around 48 degrees Celsius, but the fact that the water here is lukewarm enough to allow for a long bath is probably one of the reasons for its popularity.
I spent almost an hour relaxing in the open-air morning bath, and then sat down to laze around. I look at my phone and consider where to go next: ....... Well, speaking of Kusatsu, this is the place to go: ...... I don't know how many times I've been here this year.
Shibutoge from the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route.
Points on the route where we can usually stop and look at the scenery were closed today because of the gas warning. The highest point of the national highway was also crowded, so we did not stop.
I saw a guy with a black and silver Ninja 400 that had the same seat bag as mine, but backwards. It looks like the top pocket is easy to use, so maybe this is the right choice.
Well, according to the information I got beforehand, the leaves are already changing color in Shiga Kogen: ...... Or rather, the highest altitude areas are already nearing the end. Me too.We set off for Shiga Kogen to take pictures of the autumn leaves and motorcycles.
And here's the picture I was able to take.
Dense fog & temperature 7 degrees......... Grip heater is very active.
My hands were warm, but my body was indeed cold. I hurriedly went down to the Nagano area and went to the roadside station to get something warm to eat.
The parking lot here is filled with riders who, like me, are chilled out on the mountain. Shivering and shivering, I wade through the people clutching canned coffees and pulling cold-weather gear out of their luggage to get to the cafeteria........ The place was packed. It's so crowded that you can't tell when a seat will become available: ..... Unfortunately, I gave up on eating here. I wanted to try the mackerel bamboo, which had a poster on it: ..... After a short drive, we found a restaurant with a nice atmosphere.Found a buckwheat noodle shop.I jumped in with.....
The person in front of me finished the soba.....orz
I have no choice but to order Miso Nikomi Udon and wait while reading Golgo 13....... I wonder if the TV in this tatami room will work: ..........
I checked my current location on the map and found that I was in Nakano City, Nagano Prefecture. It was already almost 2:00 pm. The sun would be setting in a little over three hours. The temperature in the mountains might drop even lower after dark, so we reluctantly decided to take the Kan-etsu highway from the Shibukawa-Ikaho interchange on the way back. I'm the type of person who prefers not to take the same road on the same day if possible. Me.
We took the Kita-Shinano Fruit Road (Sudaka Wide-Area Agricultural Road) and Route 403 to Sugadaira Highland in the direction of Obuse, trying to get back as much as possible without driving the way we came. We continued non-stop to Tsumagoi Village. The sun begins to set around here. We took a break at a convenience store and headed for the Kanetsu Highway.
There were some traffic jams, but they were motorcycles. I made my way home, slipping in and out of traffic.
When I got home, my shoulders were strangely tired. My palms and wrists were also tired, which is hardly ever seen in recent touring ...... I felt it when I was riding in the mountains, but it was probably due to the fact that my tires were already completely done, so I had to be careful while riding....... I'll have to go change my tires soon.
