It's been a little less cold the past few days, and the temperature has risen to the mid-10s during the day. It feels good to ride a motorcycle. So, as usual, I've been wandering around on my motorcycle during the daytime for work.
Today I started my workday with a meeting in Marunouchi. Because of the location, I often go in a suit, but today I'm on a motorcycle, so I'll be looking for a parking spot......
Marunouchi Central Parking (Shin-Marunouchi Building Zone)
Even though it is right in front of Tokyo Station, it costs 100 yen per hour, and the first hour is free.
This is the underground parking lot for the Shin-Marunouchi Building. It's really adjacent to Tokyo Station, so when you go above ground, you'll see this scenery.
The empty space in the basement is nicely separated with a frame for motorcycles. The parking space for each bike is quite spacious, so you don't have to worry about bumping into the bike next to you .... You don't have to worry about bumping into the next bike. There are also guards patrolling the area frequently, so you don't have to worry about that either.
The entrance can be a bit confusing, so I recommend checking the map before you go. It is a single lane road, so you can come from the Imperial Palace side and turn right into the garage without any problem.
This sign is the landmark. Marunouchi Chuo Parking is divided into three zones with multiple entrances, but be aware that motorcycles can only park here.
I also found a video on YouTube that guides you through the process.
So far, the Yaesu side has been ridiculously expensive.Tokyo Station Yaesu Parking220 yen for 30 minutes, 6,000 yen for 15 to 24 hours. I don't think I'll ever park there again.
