The thought of swapping my Ninja 400 for a Ninja 650 kept me up late last night searching the web for vehicles in stock. I checked the web pages of all the Bright dealerships in the Kanto area (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba) to see if any of the companies not registered with the portal had any cars on display on their sites.
I found two new cars in Tokyo (2013 model in parallel import stock). We also found several other low mileage used cars, but only one with ABS in Nagoya: ......
Well, yeah, I guess so. The new model is out........ So I sent out an email to the store I found, asking for a stock check and a quote, and went to bed.
I had visitors in the morning today, so I spent the day at home.
In the meantime, I've received several replies to my inventory confirmation email.
One phone call.
While I was talking with a visitor at the office, I received a phone call. It was a number I'd never seen before, but when I picked it up, it was SOX Kawasaki, the store that quoted me yesterday. It was the SOX Kawasaki shop where I got the quote yesterday. "The price of the Ninja 650 you got yesterday has been drastically reduced today due to instructions from headquarters. I heard that.
After lunch and after the visitors left, I was still a little curious: ........ I called a nearby store and said, "I'll go take a look."
go out (e.g. on an excursion or outing)
It took an hour to get the bike going. What I saw was this.
It's an ER-6f, which means it's destined for Europe, and it's a 2013 model parallel import. I haven't checked the mileage, but it's 4 years old. The green line on the tire means it hasn't been driven much.
What's the meaning of this sticker on the gas tank?
So I got the NInja 400 appraised, got a quote, and left.
I'm lost.
Then to SOX Kawasaki. I get a quote for the Ninja 650 that I bought yesterday at a lower price.
This one has side reflectors, so I guess it's North American spec. Well, I don't really care because the 2012 and later Ninja 650/ER-6f don't have any horsepower differences based on destination.
The only other difference I noticed was that the pillion seat on this orange bike has a belt that the Ninja 400 and ER-6f don't have.
This car is also a parallel import, 2014 model. It's a 2014 model, and it's been inspected for 3 years in Japan, but the odometer has gone out about 1,000km.
Anyway, I got a quote and left. Now I know how much money I need to prepare to replace it.
After returning home
Well, as of today, I'm not in too much of a hurry because I'll think about it again when the cars I saw in stock today are sold. Used car prices are on the decline.
So, when I got home, I played around in my room doing this.
Cantu debut coming soon.
