I'm going touring! First up is the Izu Skyline.
I woke up at 6am.
So I try to check the situation of the Izu Skyline on Twitter, but at this time of the day, no one is tweeting. The day before, there were chain restrictions in some areas first thing in the morning, so we left at 7:30am after lazing around a bit.
I'm taking the Tomei for now...... There was an accident that blocked two lanes before Ebina. I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that."3 hours from Yokohama Machida to Atsugi"The time required was posted on the electric board.....
It took me two hours to get to Jukuni Pass, which takes a little over an hour if everything is going well...... In the parking lot to collect information on the Izu Skyline.
Intruder after a long time
I'm drinking a canned coffee and playing with my phone at the Izu Skyline, but it looks like the Izu Skyline will be fine. Well, here we go: ...... I was just putting on my helmet when ...... This bike slid into the parking lot.
SUZUKI VS400 Intruder
The handlebar shape and coloring are different, but it is the bike I rode when I was in college. I've only passed one of these bikes after my return, but it's been 20 years since I've seen one up close and personal...... I really wanted to get a closer look, so I took off my helmet and talked to the owner.
I've wanted one for a long time, but I didn't get it until 7 years ago. He got a new tank, new stock muffler, etc. on Yahoo! Even now, it looks super cool.
I was just nostalgic! as I watched the video. No, it was a really good show.
There were three seasons in Izu.
So, we went to the Izu Skyline. At the toll booth"The day before is Mt. Fuji Day (Feb. 23) & a discount campaign is underway."So, I received a postcard and a pocket tissue.
The person at the toll booth said, "The road was white in the morning. I think it's okay now, but please be careful." Once he called out to us, this is where the touring began. As always, the Izu Skyline is a nice road with little traffic. We quickly drove through and reached Amagi Kogen.
A lot of snow on the shoulder of the road. It's winter.
By the way, here is Nishi-Izu where I ran today. It's spring.
So, this is what it looks like along the coast of Minami-Izu. Is it summer?
Snapper for lunch. Thai at night.
So, as usual, we took our usual course around the Izu Peninsula. I thought I'd take a footbath at Kumomi Onsen on the way, but.....
The cold wind from the sea cooled the water and it was a little warm, so we passed on. From Iwachi Onsen to the town of Matsuzaki, we passed pleasantly through a winding road dotted with mysterious art.
I was planning to play with the rear suspension damping force on the rebound side while driving here, but the wind was so strong today that it was sometimes scary just driving in the wind. I'll save this adjustment for the next winding road.
By the way, we had nigirizushi (hand-formed sushi with sea bream) for lunch today in Inatori.
I have an appointment with an acquaintance for a Thai dinner this evening. The early blooming cherry blossoms in Doi were already over, so we took a break and headed for the Nishi-Izu Skyline.
The scenery here looks like autumn.
After that, we passed through the Gotemba area and took the Tomei.....
At night, Thai food in Kannai. After eating, I went home and finished my touring.
It's been a long time since I've enjoyed touring.
It's always the same course.....
I love mountain roads and back roads, and when I go to Izu by car, I venture into narrow roads that I don't understand, but it's still too snowy and icy to ride a motorcycle at this time of year.
However, when it gets warmer, I enjoy Nagano and Gunma more and don't come to the Izu Peninsula, so I'm not developing new routes..... I'm looking for information on courses that are fun to run and have beautiful scenery.....
Engine's running again.
As I mentioned before, after the heavy snowfall, I hadn't ridden for about two weeks and the engine felt kind of rusty. After that, I continued to ride on the streets to and from work (although I ride about 50 to 100 km a day), but I felt that the engine didn't rev up to the top.
So today, I intentionally used the upper part of the car for winding and high speed driving. On the winding roads, I focused on the 6,000~7,000 rpm range. At high speed, I tried to use the upper gears evenly while cruising in 3rd gear, and this afternoon, the engine clearly felt better.
What is it? Could it be that the carbon that has accumulated due to neglecting the car and running at low rpm has flown off? (random).
In any case, I need to ride the bike properly. So, when I got home, I checked the detailed fuel consumption information, which I don't usually look at, and this is what I found.
Since I don't know my usual fuel consumption, I don't have anything to compare it with & I haven't set it up yet, so I'm going to display the amount of gasoline consumed per 100 km traveled, which is a foreign-specification display (you can also change it to display the distance traveled per liter).
That's 22.7km per liter. I think it's excellent for a car that's been driven around so much. The gas tank is 15 liters full, so at this pace, a full tank will get you 340km ..... Oh, it's a lot worse than usual, because with my normal fuel consumption, I can drive more than 400km before I use up the full tank.
Photochromic shields are not the best way to enjoy the scenery.....
I went out with SHOEI's photochromic shield, which I introduced as a countermeasure against the western sun in winter, but in exchange for not being dazzled by the sunlight, I couldn't enjoy the scenery!.....
The bright cherry blossoms and the bright blue sea look muddy through the shield. I ended up running with my shield up most of the day...... I probably won't be using it anymore, except for when the west sun is too strong.....
Today's mileage was 450km.I think I was able to run pretty well for having an appointment in Izu and at night.
So, where should we go next week? ...... But it's still too early in the season to go to Izu or Boso..... I wonder if I can go to Chichibu area already.....
