It's going to be announced in 5 days. The new Katana
since the other dayTeaser released on SUZUKI's global websiteThe new Katana (not claimed to be a new Katana, but it's definite, isn't it?)
I can't go see it in Germany, but the motorcycle industry is all about the new Katana... The fourth video was released yesterday, and it's been making news everywhere because it finally shows the body of the car.
The specs have not been announced, butI think that the GSX-S series will raise the displacement to 1100cc.
Hmmm. Katana 3.0 ...
So, as usual, I've been watching the videos.
LED headlights that seem to be split into two halves. The top half lights up when normal, and the bottom half lights up when high beam is turned on. When the high beam is turned on, the lower half lights up.
Like the GSX-S750/1000, it has fang-like looking position lamps and LED daytime running lights on both sides of the headlight. It's a bit raggedy...
If you play around with the color tone and brightness, you can also see the relatively high layout of the bar handles and screen.
There's also a driving scene included. The front face doesn't look like a Katana... The original has a more slender screen, and the headlight is more angled from the cowl.
On the lower part of the front cowl"dagger"lettering. The blackish part on the bottom of the engine that sticks out horizontally is some kind of under cowl.
I think it looks like the under cowl of Recursion, a turbocharged motorcycle concept that SUZUKI announced a long time ago....
If you zoom in a bit, you can see the Brembo radial mount calipers and the inverted front forks look just like the GSX-S1000... The second half of the front fender is painted black, the same color scheme as the original Katana.
I guess the round hole in the under cowl is the oil check window. Only the engine bolts are a strange color.
And the back view. The license plate stay extends from the rear fender. All the lights are LED. From this angle, the height of the bar handles stands out.
I also brightened this photo.
This is a dress-up version of the GSX-S1000... But......
Ahhh, it's almost this. The KATANA 3.0, unveiled at last year's EICMA.
It was planned by an Italian motorcycle magazine and customized by a local store... and customized by a local shop.
If you look at other photos, you can see that the rear lamps are almost exactly the same as the original, so I guess it was actually a marketing model with the involvement of a designer from SUZUKI.
I think the design of Katana needs a story.
So, the new Katana has been revealed. At a quick glance, it looks like it has a lot in common with the GSX-S1000 series (which is also due for a model change), so the price is likely to be reasonable, just like Suzuki.
And my guess is that it will come out with an increased displacement of 1100cc, making it the largest displacement of the so-called "neo-retro" series. I'm sure this will sell well... But, when the first generation was announced"The Shock of Cologne"I was a little less surprised by the design (even though I had seen 3.0 beforehand).
For more information.I'd like you to read this site.(Bike Genealogy)The story behind the design of the Katana is what made it the legendary car that it is.
↑I was shocked by this....
The story is about developing a ↓collection.
I'll be sitting on my hands and knees waiting for INTERMOT 2018, looking forward to the development and design story that will be publicized when it is announced in 5 days.
