Well, the weekend. Saturday... I worked all morning and the time was 2pm... I'm late, but I'm going on a bike ride.
I have a destination in mind for today, so I'll start off by arriving here in 60 minutes from home.
The usual turnpike.
From the cherry blossoming turnpike to Izu.
It was cherry blossom season, so we trudged up the mountain, admiring the flowers on the shoulder of the road.
We continued on to Izu Sky Run, another place I've been to before. Spring has finally arrived and the temperature is high. It was a good day for biking.
The navigator told me to get off at the Yamabushi Pass Interchange, so I bought a ticket and went.
As usual, we took a pleasant ride on a pleasant road with little traffic.
However, the exit of Yamabushi Pass is very difficult to find... I'm sure I've passed through it once before, but it was too much trouble to turn back, so I continued on to Kameishi Pass. After passing through Amagi Pass and Joren no Taki (Waterfall), we headed towards Kawazu from the loop bridge.
Here's where we're staying today!
Well, I've had nothing to do with camping at all, although I bought a tent, a mat and a sleeping bag more than a year ago, but here's where I'm staying today. I only brought a sleeping bag because I didn't need to set up or take down a tent.

It was a beautiful day for biking on Saturday, but there were only two people using the bike, me and one other person.
I was worried because I've read in many blogs that the owner is a bit quirky, but he just seems like he doesn't socialize well, so no problem. I quickly unloaded my luggage, searched for a nearby supermarket on my phone, and went out to buy something. .... The nearest local supermarket was closed at 6 p.m. and was closing its shutters when I arrived in front of it, so I headed to the town of Kawazu and shopped at Maxvalu, which is open until 11 p.m.
I was actually thinking of taking a quick bath at one of the stopovers and then heading back, but... I've got to get back to Tipi....
But here's the first thing....
And here's a picture right after I came back....
With a single power outlet, I can work without worry... No time to light a fire... ssh to the server...
Solo camping with a campfire in a tipi
After what seemed like half an hour of work, I didn't feel like going to the bathroom anymore.
It's okay. The purpose of today is to enjoy the fire to our heart's content. After all, we have plenty of firewood.
Once the fire is lit, it's time to relax....
I enjoy the flames for a while. After all, we have plenty of wood, and the tepee is very comfortable and smoke-free. It's not yet the season for insects, and the contrast between the pleasant chill of the setting sun and the warmth of the fire is wonderful.
After settling down, we throw the ingredients we bought into our stomachs. A teppan (iron plate) is prepared, so we are very satisfied with our dinner even though we really just bought the ingredients.
After we finished eating, all we could do was just stare at the flames. I had brought an electric blanket just in case... I set it up next to my sleeping bag, just in case....
I laze around in my shrug, even chatting with friends on my phone. I fall asleep and wake up to add firewood, or sit and smoke while watching the fire... After all, we have plenty of firewood, so we don't have to worry about running out!...
In the end, I went to bed at 2 am.
