Collecting motorcycles. Loose information on stores that can maintain the bike.
For this reasonYesterday's eventsI had planned to pick up the Ninja as soon as possible, but it rained from morning on Saturday. As usual, the staff came to my house from mid-morning to mid-afternoon to discuss the work to be done at home on weekdays.
And then in the afternoon, when the evening was approaching."If you're British, you don't take an umbrella."I took my helmet and headed for the bike shop.
I didn't want to go home with a bike with a wet seat... But when I went to the store and looked in the adjacent bike yard, there were about 10 bikes soaking wet parked there, but no Ninja 650 in sight!...
I walked into the store....
It was switched to in-store storage.
The car had been wiped down once. The person who came out to deal with me (the manager who I talked to on the phone yesterday) was lower than when I got the quote, and I could tell that he was afraid to ask me if I wanted to cancel. He seemed to know that it was a bad idea for me to say that.
However, I was no longer interested in continuing our relationship, so I just thanked him for leaving me for a day and said I was sorry we couldn't be together longer, and went home.
This is why we are looking for stores in western Tokyo (Setagaya, Ota, Meguro), northeastern Kawasaki (Miyamae, Takatsu, Nakahara), and eastern Yokohama (Kohoku, Tsuzuki) that can help us with bike maintenance.
Uneven wear.
The front fork, stem, swingarm, and brakes are not in urgent need of maintenance, so I'm thinking of finding a store to take care of them before the end of the year, but my main concern right now is the uneven wear of the front wheel.
For a while now, I've been feeling the steering wheel cutting into me when cornering. When I went to the store to get an estimate, they pointed out that the front tires were unevenly worn.
When new, the tread surface is supposed to be a gentle semicircle in a kamaboko shape, but it has somehow decreased more on the side side in a mountain shape with the middle sticking out. The store asked me a question like, "Did you run with low air pressure?" I was asked a question like that."I like high air pressure."&"Check air pressure very frequently."it is.
The specified air pressure for the Ninja 650 is 2.25 for the front wheel and 2.5 for the rear wheel, but I usually ride with 2.5 for the front wheel and 2.9 for the rear wheel. There are a lot of theories that this is the design value for the latest radials, and the bike shop said it was better that way, so I don't think it was the air pressure....
I'm too inexperienced to say what's causing this, but I didn't feel it on the Ninja 400's initial tires & Angel ST, nor on the Ninja 650's initial tires (which means it wasn't happening).... Is this a problem specific to the BATTLAX T31, or is it a problem with the vehicle or the way I ride? I'm a little bewildered....
But I'm going to forget about the bike for the weekend, as I'm going to play with my newly arrived 9th generation Core i7+GeForce RTX2060 gaming PC set up in a shiny case with 16.7 million LED colors.
