Rental bike touring with MT-09 Tracer. I thought I'd try to leave at about 5:00 p.m. since I had to return the bike at 8:00 p.m....... Yes, it was 9 o'clock when I woke up.
Without fail, we passed through the Kanpachi traffic jam and got on the Kan-etsu highway. The temperature was getting warmer and warmer, so we had no choice but to go to a higher altitude. First, I went to Arashiyama PA to look at the map on my phone and figure out where to go.
As I walked to the motorcycle parking lot, I saw a Tracer of the same color parked next to me. I bought a drink, looked at my phone, and decided to go to Karuizawa. When I got back on the bike, the owner was there and we chatted for a while.
I got off at the Usui Karuizawa IC and headed towards the station, but there were so many people that I didn't stop and go through. From Nakakaruizawa, I took the Japan Romantic Road to the Onioshi Highway. I thought about taking the Manza Highway to Kita-Shiga via Manza Onsen, but I thought it would be a bit dangerous if I had to be in Tokyo at 8 p.m. to return the rental bike. So I decided to say goodbye to the Asama-Shirane volcano route. I'm heading towards Kusatsu on the open road.
The weather was fine, and there were not many cars, probably because it was the weekend just before Obon, so it was a comfortable ride. The temperature dropped as the elevation increased. This is a route that I usually take on my way home after the sun has set, so it was refreshing.
Cabbage is in season in Tsumagoi Village, where we paused to rehydrate on the way. We relaxed while looking at the cabbage fields. It was starting to get cold, so we took some pictures and moved on to the Kusatsu area. We took a rice ball break at the Shirane Volcano ropeway stop on the way.
The Kan-etsu highway might be congested, so we're heading home slowly. We passed through the town of Kusatsu and headed for the Kanetsu. Passing the roadside station of Yamba on the way. ”Oh, there's a free footbath here. I think I'll take a break." But there was a car behind me, so I just passed by. A relaxing footbath with a view of the scenery. Then, soft ice cream. So we headed for Takasaki via Kusatsu Kaido instead of Shibukawa-Ikaho IC.
We've passed through Takasaki city and the entrance to the Kanetsu highway is in sight......... Traffic congestion is shown on the electronic billboard:..........Accident Shibuya 25km:70mins & Nerima Onside Accident Shibuya 4km:20mins........ What? Isn't that a little dangerous?
If you're late, you'll have to return the car the next day, and if you're not, you'll be charged an extra half-day's fee....... I set the navigation system again and it read the VICS information: ........Estimated time of arrival: 20:40...... Yahoo! Smartphone Navi takes into account the actual time required by other users to calculate the estimated time, so this is a bad situation.
We took the Kan-etsu train from the Takasaki IC and just kept driving in the passing lane. The traffic was more congested and faster than usual, and we were aggressively slipping through.We just got off Nerima, and the estimated time of arrival is about 8:10 p.m....... I can do it!
After that, we drove at a faster pace than usual on ordinary roads. I had to fill up the tank before returning the car. So, I slip into the storefront parking lot and the firefly lights start streaming!I'm just in time.
Lesson learned: rental bike touring is strictly early morning departure!
