I rode the MT-09 Tracer I borrowed last night for about 500km.Short impressions right after borrowing. But as expected, there were many things that I noticed after touring and my impression changed a little.
Here are some notes on my impressions. Please note that this is the ramblings of an amateur.
I got in.
Touring with a leggy adventure typeDUCATI Multistrada 1200SThis is the second one after the first. It's still easy. As well as the posture, the high viewpoint also makes it easy.
I parked next to a Tracer of the same color at the Kanetsu Arashiyama PA, where I took my first break, and had a short chat with the owner, whose first words were ”It's easy." It was.
So, after running it, I concluded that it was well made, but not as good as I expected."I want this!"I couldn't find any outstanding points that made me thinkThis is...... What can I say, I have a high average score......
I can't help but compare it to Multistrada, but the price difference in Japan is more than double. I shouldn't compare them.......orz
I checked the price difference in Euros on a French website, and it seems to be competing with the DUCATI Hypermotard 939 and BMW F800GS. It's a tourer, but according to overseas comparison articles, the Multistrada and Bandit are also cited.
Lovely place.
- Just the right amount of displacement
The engine of the MT-09 Tracer is 846cc."Even an old man can use it."This is the limit of the displacement. It's a lot of fun to drive it for the first time. This is not the case with the over-liter models.
- High-speed cruising performance
The pace of the overtaking lane of the Kan-etsu highway is just right for driving comfortably. This is the biggest advantage of a large displacement car.
- Flexible positions
Yesterday.
”You can start the interview now." The seating posture is so straight that it's like
The reason I wrote that was because I was sitting closer to the front of the seat right after I rented it and because I was riding around town. On the winding roads, sitting a little further back may have increased the rear wheel load effect, and I was able to enjoy riding through the corners. My ass was sore after riding for a long time, but I could get over it by changing the position.
- Helmet holder standard equipment
helloKijima's stuff on my NInja 400.It looks like it's the same product as the one in the "Mere Old Man", but it's nice that it comes with this as standard (I guess that's to be expected).
Hmm? What is it?
- The 3-cylinder engine I was expecting
was not good. I felt it right after I rented it.A rushed feeling and an exhaust sound that is not sensual and only noticeable in the intake.。It's true that the more you turn it, the more torque and power it generates, but I guess that's to be expected from a large displacement sports car..... I'm not sure. When I switched to the Ninja 400, the exhaust note was just as loud. ”That sounds great..." I thought to myself:......
This content, but it may be individual differences. The vehicle I drove this time had a symptom that the engine would stall if I didn't open the gas pedal a little larger when starting. I thought that the idling speed would be adjusted automatically as expected.
PDF of the instructions on the YAMAHA websiteI took a look at it, but there is no description of how to adjust it, so I assume it is automatic. Also, the rpm increase was not very smooth, and I heard a strange mechanical noise around 2000-3000 rpm.
Here it is, but I still think it was a problem with this unit. The XSR900 I rented after this. So, even though it was a different tuning of the same type of engine, I liked the engine a lot.
- Vibration transmitted to handlebars and steps
After a couple of hours of riding at Kanetsu's passing lane pace, my hands and feet go numb and I need a break......... I'm sure I'll want to replace them with rubberized steps.
- Handlebar mirror
Normally, the mirrors are cowl-mounted, so when you are riding normally, the mirrors are at the edge of your field of vision, and you can check the rear with just your eyes. On the Tracer, which has a handlebar mirror, you need to move your face to consciously check the rear.
- It's still got legs.
In terms of risk avoidance, it will be a criterion for me to choose a motorcycle that both legs can reach as far as I can put them........ I hate short legs.
- Suspension
As a rental car, I couldn't (or didn't) even adjust the preload, but I felt like the ground contact was thin and fluffy. There was also a lot of pitching in the front and rear, so it might not be as good as other cars..... I'm not sure what to make of it. ”Reduced cost suspension is a weak point" There are people who write things like this:.....
After all, adventure bikes don't seem to be my favorite.
This is the shape for long touring!I know what you mean, but I'm not thrilled with this shape in the first place....... I'm sorry. It's a matter of taste, so please forgive me. .......orz
It's more like a minivan on four wheels...... I know it's convenient, but I would never buy one myself, I concluded.
