Happy New Year
New Year's Day
So, this year, following last year'sWatching the first sunrise in Higashi-IzuA plan to go around the Izu Peninsula. Wossan lives alone and has no time to waste.
Successfully woke up early in the morning.I did, but I ended up watching TV until dawn.Failure to depart.(laughs)
I guess the main reason for my loss was that I didn't turn on the light in my room....... I had no choice but to go to bed twice: .......It was noon when I woke up.(laughs)
Slowly getting ready to leave: ...... The sun is already starting to set in Higashi-Izu, where we planned to watch the sunrise.......
And enjoy the beautiful first sunset: ......orz
By the time we arrived at the inn, it was already dark. After checking in, we looked for a place to eat, but there were almost no choices on New Year's night........ Grilled goldfish rice bowl at an izakaya in front of Izukyu Shimoda Station: .....
When I got back to the hotel, I didn't have much to do, so I took a bath, bought a bunch of manga on my Kindle, and ended up falling asleep while reading.
Incidentally, I've been a fan of Rieko Nishihara since her serialization in Modern Mahjong when I was a university student, "Saibara Rieko Mahajan Houroki".
Day 2
I'd ordered room service coffee at 7:30 a.m. the day before. So, I woke up just in time. Wisdom of an adult not to repeat the same mistake twice.
At eight o'clock, I left the inn and went for a walk around Minami-Izu. ....... After taking a short walk along the beach in the morning at Yumigahama, I headed for Ishirozaki.
On the mountain side of Minami-Izu, there were a lot of huge windmills for wind power generation. I was hoping to get close enough to photograph them, but I couldn't find a route while running.
I had to walk quite a bit to get to the Ishirozaki Lighthouse, and I knew the parking lot was expensive, so I passed. I thought about feeding the monkeys at HAKATSUZAKI, but I didn't want to do that either.
[Useful Notes]
HAKATSUZAKI-enis
Play with (ferocious w) monkeys for a fee.In fact, there are many wild monkeys along the road leading down to HAKATSUZAKI. If you approach them with your car or motorcycle, they will run away at the sound, but if you turn off the engine and wait a few minutes, they will come out.
Free"lwild and super-violent"play with monkeysit is possible to
I wanted to go to the bathroom right after I left the inn, but Minami-Izu is super rural. There is no such thing as a convenience store along the road....... In the end, we easily passed through to Nishi-Izu.
Fuji for the first time this year at the terraced rice fields in Ishibe, where we stopped along the way.
We finally arrived at a convenience store and took a restroom break. After refilling my Thermos with a caffe latte, I went to the town's hot spring that I had learned about from the Facebook community.
I was smoking a cigarette while looking at the ocean, thinking about taking a bath in the morning....... Oh no: ..... I'm super hungry: ..... I should have eaten breakfast at the inn: ....... So I googled it on my phone, and it looks like a sushi restaurant will be opening in my neighborhood in about 30 minutes. I passed on the hot springs and went to the beach to wait for the restaurant to open.
As my hunger settles down, my hot spring bathing diminishes...... I had plans for the evening, so I went home early and headed north along the coast of Nishi-Izu toward Doi and Shuzenji.
Just before Shuzenji, I slid into a parking lot to take a break at a convenience store, and saw a black Ninja 250 rider sitting next to his bike, playing with something. As I smoked and watched, I noticed that he had taken the steps off and was working on something. ”Did you break the step?" I tried to fix the shift pedal, but it broke when I tried to fix it....... That's what he said: ..... I asked him to show me the shift pedal area of his Ninja 250, but unlike the Ninja 400, the shift pedal is connected to the shift rod, making it difficult to repair. I called a local bike shop, but they said they'd be open from the 4th. I sat down beside him to see if there was anything I could do to help, but it was broken pretty hard from the root, so I couldn't do anything.... on the spot. It's not going to be easy.
NAPS and 2wheelers should be open for their first sale today..... But the closest store is about 50km from here. He said he could use a tool to change gears, so I suggested, "Why don't you put it in 2nd or 3rd gear and trot to the store?" I suggested, but it was still a long way. I took another look at the area around the shift lever, and it occurred to me that I could make an instant shift pedal by wrapping a wrench or something from my car tool around the bolt that goes to the gear side.
Fortunately, a home improvement center about 2km away was open for business, so the riders decided to get tools and equipment there for now...... If I didn't have plans for the evening, I would have gone with him, but I had to say goodbye here. I wonder if the guy with the Gunma license plate made it home safely. ........
We continued on our way home, regretting a little that we had not been able to help properly. The Izu exit was congested, so we took the Izu Skyline towards Atami.
Continuing on the northward route along the Nishi-Izu coast, today we spent the whole day riding with a view of Mt. Fuji. We took the Nishi-Izu Skyline, which is free from traffic jams, and reached Atami Pass easily. The day before, we took the Seisho Bypass~Manazuru Road route, so we'll take the Hakone route on the way home.........
The choice of the Hakone route was a big mistake........ Yes. Today is the day of the Hakone Ekiden outward route: .......
It seems that the school I graduated from is the second most powerful school in terms of number of times it has participated in and won the championship, but I had forgotten about it because I myself have had no interest in it since I was a student: ..... If I had escaped to the turnpike on the way, I would not have been caught in the traffic, but it was already a nice big traffic jam: ...... It is possible to slip through to some extent, but there is a limit.
By the time we reached Ashinoko, it was dusk. Our plan to return home while it was still light failed: ......
By the time we got down to Yumoto, the sun had already set, and we returned home two hours later than planned. Because of the oversleeping on the first day, we stayed overnight, but the touring distance was only about 400km.
Since I was in my twenties, I've been going to Izu often for driving and swimming, so I'm gradually losing my first visit to the point...... This winter, I'm going to have to do some advance research before I head out, because it's not going to be fun without touring around looking for holes.
