Previous post.As you can see, my NInja 650 is already at the store ready for delivery.
Some of the funds I was allowance to add a 2017 Ninja 1000 to my account were used to replace the bike.(You can read about why I didn't buy the new Ninja 1000 right away in this article.)
This is it. The now obsolete Ninja 650
For my use, I want it to satisfy both my needs for casual city riding on weekdays for work and touring 500km on weekends. If my current pace continues, I'll be riding 15,000km a year......... So.A full-cowl sports tourer that can be handled as if it were an everyday wearable vehicle. This is the best option for me at the moment when it comes to a bike in the shape of a No doubt about it.
If it was a 2015 livery, it would be nice that it is indistinguishable from the current 400 SE at a glance, but unfortunately, I couldn't find a new one with this livery.
Normally, I would choose this one: .........
The new Ninja 650 has a completely new frame design, much lighter weight, ABS and ETC as standard equipment.A quick glance."Oh, I like the shape of the 650/400 better now.....". I came to the conclusion thatTwo days later, I started looking for old stock.I've written about this many times. I can't do anything about this because it is a part of sensitivity.
When my 650 is delivered, I'll go to Kawasaki Plaza and test ride it.
Actually, the store where I went to look at the parallel ER-6f had this PRESTO official new car in stock: ..... It's a YAMAHA XJ6 Diversion F.
Even though it was released in 2012, there is not much difference in age between the Ninja 650 and the previous 650R, which was a minor change.
If I can't find a genuine new Ninja 650 in stock, I'm wondering if I should take a proper look at this one: .....I'm glad you found the Ninja 650.
So, preparations for welcoming them are steadily underway at .....
I had the ETC2.0 OBE and USB power supply installed at the store, so all I had to do was to go to the web and click on a few things.
Products already ordered.
- Bike cover.
I've been using a bike cover for almost two years and it's almost over its useful life. The Comine AK-100 I'm using now is very durable and I liked it, but it's time toIt's partially torn & smells like cat pee...... So, I bought a new one. This time I bought this one.
Reasonably priced compared to the AK-100. I actually considered the Koch, but .......
It may help prevent cats from getting into the house, but it seems like a hassle to put this on every day, so I'm not going to do it.
- Tank pad
If it gets scratched, why don't you put it over the scratches to hide them? I was looking for a design that would not be too noticeable and would match the vehicle...... As a result of my searchPure tank pads for 2015 Ninja 250 SE modelsI looked up the model number and purchased.
- Ninja 3D logo decal
My favorite part of the Ninja 400 SE.The decals are not flat, but thick and three-dimensional. The texture is excellent and I like it. However, I have a theory that they look better on a black background, so I may not put them on.
If you look up the model number of a minor part like this, you can find it.Buy from AmazonYou can do it.
- Pivot cover (gold)
I also checked the bike in the store, but the 2015 Ninja 650's Coco was silver. I wanted to replace it with a gold one, and by the way, this one is only available in silver on Amazon.Purchased at Monotaro。
This is the only one yet.Helmet Holderor something like thatLED headlightswill be relocated from the Ninja 400.
Unordered and confused products
- Engine guard (slider)
This is to protect the cowl in the event of a standstill. Fortunately, the Ninja 400 is lightweight and has good footing, so I've never had a standing fall.
I'd really like to have a guard that won't slip off even if I knock it over while riding, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be such a product. This is the only one I could find with the criteria of no need to modify the cowl and more than two mounting points. This is the only one I could find with the criteria of no cowl modification and at least two mounting points. Other companies have only one mounting point, so if I knock it down, it will have a big impact on the engine and frame.
[postscript]I installed it.
- rear shock
I'm going to run the standard suspension for the first 1,000km and think about it during that time........ I would like to get the S46DR1 (KA 906) from OHLINS.........
Amazon only sells short models for the purpose of improving footing, so I think I'll buy this one from Monotaro. By the way, Monotarou has both personal and corporate versions, and this rear suspension was about 7,000 yen cheaper on the corporate site.
- Front Fork Spring
They are available from OHLINS and HYPERPRO, but the spring rate is probably stiffer than the standard rate....... So, I may not buy this one. I'm a more mature touring rider, so I'll probably just use a better front fork oil and change the viscosity and compare......
- Touring Screen
When I was touring the other day, I drove along the Tohoku and Kan-etsu roads at a reasonable pace, but I thought it would be easier to drive at high speed if I reduced the wind on my body a little more when I was wearing a mesh jacket.
- Grip heater
This is a must have. I thought that I wouldn't need it this season, so I'd wait until fall, but when I was touring the other day, my hands were a little cold in the mesh gloves as I climbed in altitude, so I turned it on even though it was almost July. It's also useful for drying gloves that got wet in the rain.
This time the dealer said, "You can also wear Honda sport grip heaters," but I really like the GH-07!(Click here to see my impressions)So I'll continue with this.
I knew the budget would skyrocket as soon as I added the OHLINS.
