Fukushima - Tochigi
So I started driving on Route 352 from Ginzandaira towards Fukushima. I glanced at the map signboard at the Okutadami Dam parking lot, and it looked like I should be able to find a lakeside sightseeing boat stop down the mountain soon....... It should be: ......
But just when you think the lake is near, you gain elevation, and just when you think the lake is just around the corner, you lose sight of it in the mountains. And the road just gets lonelier and lonelier........
And this road. It's a pretty rough road.
I don't mind the fact that the road is narrow in some places, as it's a common practice in the mountains, but there are signs like this one: .....
What the hell? When I entered the corner, I found a river running through the middle of the road.
I took this picture at the first place I encountered, but there were almost 10 places like this: .... In addition, the surface of the road was quite uneven due to the flow of water, and there were points where the water was so deep that my jeans were soaked......
And no matter how hard I ran, I couldn't reach the lakeside...... Or rather, we found ourselves far behind Lake Okutadami: .......
We tried to have dinner on the bank of the river running beside us, but we couldn't find a place to go down to the river..... There was a path that looked like it might lead us here. I found a path that looked like it might be a good place to go, so I turned off......
There's something a little fishy about the atmosphere: ..... I parked my bike and checked, and it looks like I can get to the riverbank.......
I don't feel like eating right next to this abandoned house. The abandoned house is also .... But I wouldn't be surprised if there were bears or something......
We continued driving and finally parked at a spot where we could have a meal with a view of the river.
But the riverbank was covered with so much driftwood that it was hard to get close to the water's edge......
I had no choice but to sit down where I could look out over the river and enjoy my lunch while watching the murmuring in the distance: ..... But...
Both lunchboxes are the type with ingredients on top of a bowl of rice.......
Completely wrong choice. I finished it, but I was super full. It was three o'clock in the afternoon at this point.
Fukushima - Tochigi
Well, we'll be hungry by the time we reach Utsunomiya at night..... We continued on Route 352.
Fukushima Kita.
And around here, the fuel warning light started flashing. Come to think of it, I haven't seen a gas station for a long time........ I thought, "Well, I can drive 100km with the remaining fuel, so I should be okay, right? I googled it, but it seems that there is only one gas station in the area, which is run by JA......
On the contrary, it was a great help to have the flashing lights here. If it had been before we entered Okutadami, we would have run out of gas on the way.Previously rented Forty-Eight by HARLEYIf you're going to drive on Route 352, you'll need to bring extra gasoline.
So, we refueled in the village.......
We continue on. Around here, the road is getting more and more decent, but the temperature is also dropping rapidly: ..... The thermometer on the shoulder read 14 degrees Celsius.
Good thing I had the heated grips on.
Installed last weekend. It was a good thing I did.
Kijima Grip Heater GH07 with built-in switch
- The successor to the GH06 series with an integrated left side grip and switch. The slimmer grip and integrated switch make it much easier to use. In addition, we have enhanced the product lineup by adding the much-requested inch size and 11.5mm moped type 2 compatible models.
Upper body is also wearing a leather jacket with the inner lining removed today. We continued to enjoy a pleasant ride. As we got closer to the city, the elevation dropped and the condition of the road improved.
We headed into Tochigi Prefecture, stopping for a rest on the shoulder of the road here and there.
Thinking with coffee and a bath
So I arrived in Tochigi around sunset...... Two lunch boxes are so powerful that I don't feel hungry at all....... I was a little tired, and I thought I would be hungry after an hour of rest, so I went to a family restaurant.......
I made the regrettable mistake of eating the cake as well as the coffee.
Instead of hunger, I feel full again.....
I can't eat dumplings with this: ..... And then, for the third time today, I had a flash of inspiration.
If you take a bath, you'll get hungry, right?
So we went to the hot spring.
It is located a bit far from the main road and was quite empty. The outdoor bath was nice. Enjoying the hot spring slowly.
Coffee milk after a hot bath will make your hunger disappear again......
At this point, I gave up on gyoza for the day....... I googled it while lying down on the floor, but it seems that there are not many good gyoza restaurants in the late evening (sigh of defeat).
I'm planning to go to the Bandai-Azuma Skyline to see the autumn leaves, so I'll try to get my revenge on the outward journey then.....
The bluebird of happiness is near my home.
So, after getting out of the bath, I quickly headed for the Utsunomiya Interchange.
I'm on my way home on the Tohoku Expressway at night.......
So, when I got off the Nerima Interchange around 11pm, I finally felt hungry......
I had no choice but to eat this at a ramen shop near my house......
It was my first time to go to a ramen shop, but the noodles and dumplings were delicious, so I guess it's okay.
Today's mileage was about 630km. About 100km more than usual.
Announcement: Next week's bike is here!
So, right after I got home, I thought, "This is it, I've got to go back to Utsunomiya and tour the Bandai-Azuma Skyline to see the autumn leaves! I thought to myself, "This is it!
So, next time I'll be touring "Dumplings at DAEG"....orz
