Stable sleeper.
When I woke up, it was 10 a.m. What is it?
That's why I slept in: .... I went to bed around 2am the night before, so I had an ideal 8 hours of sleep: ...... I got ready slowly and left after 11:00: ..... I'm wearing this over a long t-shirt today....
But today's vehicle is a rental bike, a Suzuki GSX-S750.
I've been struggling with the location of the external microphone for my action cam, so I've decided to put the microphone under the rear seat.。
High Wind Naked
It's a great bike, and I was surprised at how easy it was to ride right after I rented it last night, but there are only a few places I can go when I leave near noon. Today, I'm going to ride around Hakone on the Tomei Expressway ..... But the wind was strong. The wind was blowing crosswise, and unlike usual, I was riding without a cowl, so I cruised along in the leftmost lane at 95 km/h in 4th gear.
Then, suddenly, we took a bathroom break in Ebina.
There was a Ploom TECH for sale in the smoking area, so I bought one on impulse and had a smoke while considering where to go next: ..... Yeah, from the way it felt yesterday, it should be a fun bike to corner on, so let's go to the Turnpike!
○○ Turnpike Hakone
It's a rental bike, so you can't install a smartphone navigation system. I should have checked the route before I went. "I'm pretty sure the turnpike is just to get off at Odawara Higashi in Odashi, right?" I had to start again from memory.
I made a lot of mistakes after this.
- First, we passed through the Atsugi Interchange, which is a branch from the Tomei to Odawara, and proceeded directly to the Hadano-Nakai Interchange.....
- At any rate, if we head towards Route 1, we can make it, right? I took a hunch and got on the Odawara-Atsugi Road without any trouble. The memory that Odawara East is the closest to the turnpike is completely wrong, the correct answer is Odawara West.
- As we exit the Odawara Higashi Interchange, we notice that the scenery is something we've never seen before: ..... But there was nothing I could do about it, so I just drove towards Odawara city.
- We were stuck in a weekend shopping traffic jam on a one-lane, narrow, and impassable residential road, even at a red light, and slowed to a crawl.....
- I finally came across a place I knew, Odawara Castle, parked my bike in front of it and searched for my smartphone navigation system. For the first time, I know the exact location of the turnpike........
It took us almost two hours to reach the turnpike entrance......
Since Mazda's sponsorship has expired, the official name of the Turnpike is now "Anest Iwata Turnpike Hakone." It is.
Lunch and YAEH stickers
As expected, the GSX-S 750 is a fun winding bike, and we arrived at the Daikan-zan Sky Lounge quickly, enjoying the turnpike.
As you can see, it's chilly up here, unlike the outside world. It was already 14:00 at this point, so we decided to have a late lunch. I saw a very attractive POP at the store, so I decided to have this today.
A hamburger with horse mackerel from Sagami Bay, okara from Yugawara, and tartar sauce with dried plums from Odawara. I ordered an iced coffee with it, and when I tried to get the gumdrop milk and the muddler, I found that the coffee was too hot......
Oh, Yaeste (YAEH!)! sticker!
They're also distributed at the Daikanshan Sky Lounge..... I didn't notice it until now......
I think I'll put it on my helmet.
Loitering and Touring
Fuji at this time of the day, and there was no point in staying at Daikan-zan for too long...... However, it was already past 2:30 p.m. at this point: .... If we head towards Izu now, we might not be able to return the rental bikes in time. So we headed towards Moto Hakone.
Since we didn't seem to have time to go anywhere from here today, we took the Hakone Shindou and drove down Route 1 for the first time in a while. It was indeed a bit crowded, so I took the Tomei Expressway from the Oi-Matsuda Interchange and headed home, slipping through a bit of traffic on the Tomei Expressway before the traffic jam started in earnest.
We returned the bike more than an hour earlier than the scheduled return time and finished today's touring. Next Sunday is the KCBM (Kawasaki Coffee Break Meeting) in Hamamatsu, but I can't go because of my schedule.......
