Over 20,000km.
I've been doing cat-sitting work for the past few days.
On rainy days, I take my four-wheeled vehicle, but if I don't have to worry about rain, I just ride 50 km round trip. So, on my way home the other day....
The new bike's styling didn't sit well with me, so I searched high and low for a new bike, and somehow managed to find the last one in the Kanto area, a Ninja 650 (old model), which reached 20,000km in less than 15 months.
Although my work has been a bit hectic and I haven't been able to ride as much as I had planned this year, I have ridden a few thousand kilometers on my rental bike, so I guess I've been riding a lot.
It seems that the world is thinking about changing the mileage, but I'll still drive it!
I've heard that the preservation period for important parts after the end of production is 8 years, so at this point I'm thinking of replacing the engine with a new one after 100,000km.
I think I'll send the OHLINS suspension in for maintenance first, and maybe replace the chain and sprockets.
I'm also curious about this...
This one was also replaced.
After 20,000km, the interior of my helmet is getting a bit worn out. Recently, I felt like the weight of the helmet was being supported by the top of my head, so I bought this helmet.
If the average speed is 50km/h, the helmet is worn for 400 hours during a 20,000km ride. That's a lot of wear and tear on the interior....
The center pad is obviously thinner, but the cheek pad is even thinner than the center pad.
I feel like I'm already halfway through the heat. That's no wonder I'm losing the feeling of support with my cheeks....
After the autumn rains, the touring season is in full swing
The weather is supposed to improve from the west this weekend, although it's been a bit chilly with the autumn rain front. I can't go on a touring trip overnight because I have to do some pet-sitting work, but I also have a rental reservation for the MT-09 (pre-minor change model) from tomorrow night.
I heard on the radio that the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route from Kusatsu to Shibutoge, which had been closed due to volcanic activity, is now open.
Let's have fun touring, everyone!
