GW Fantasy
Although I've been neglecting my work due to taking care of my cat, I've been getting a lot of new work for the end of the year/new year and I'm screaming with joy. However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to take 10 consecutive days off, since I've got a campaign project that needs to be released and closed during the GW period... Well, I can carry my laptop in my side bag and set up an environment where I can ssh in from where I am, but I can't expect to get a signal on the ferry or in the mountains of Shikoku......
This weekend, I was thinking about it a lot. It was a sunny day on Saturday, so I stopped the staff from coming to my house and said, "According to the weather forecast, it's only going to be sunny today, so let's do it on Sunday.
I had planned to go to the beach, but I worked until past 4 a.m. and woke up at noon. It was almost noon when I woke up, and I also had some personal business to attend to... I had no choice but to go out and buy some high performance cat food....
Carried in the cat house. It's only been about 10 days since my third son disappeared. It was a Sunday when I couldn't help but call out for my third son out of habit, while loving on my cats who are now alone.
I guess the touring is back this weekend....
Maybe Shikoku is not that big?
So, this is my Shikoku touring fantasy. The other day, I drew a quick route and found that it was only a little over 1,000km around the coast, but...
That's just as well. Shikoku is much smaller than I thought it would be, with four prefectures added together being about the same size as Iwate Prefecture. It's also smaller than the area of Nagano and Gunma prefectures combined.
prefectural name | area |
Kouchi | 7,105.01km2 |
Ehime | 5,677.38km2 |
Tokushima | 4,145.69km2 |
udon (thick Japanese wheat noodles)Kagawa | 1,876.47km2 |
Total area of Shikoku:18,804.55km2 |
Nagano | 13,562.23km2 |
Gunnma | 6,363.16km2 |
Area of Nagano Prefecture + Gunma Prefecture:19,925.39km2 |
Last year, I was surprised at the size of the area when I went on several tours in Tohoku, but Shikoku, on the contrary, may be attractive for its compactness.
For now, I'll let my imagination run wild as I make a list....
As usual, the main purpose of touring is to enjoy the beautiful scenery, hot springs, and food, but I don't have much knowledge about Shikoku. Actually, I spent four years in Kochi Prefecture from the age of six to ten when my father was transferred there, but my childhood memories are useless.
In the meantime, I'm googling appropriate keywords and making a list of good roads in Shikoku.
Information on recommended roads, hot springs, and eating alone is loosely solicited.
