Well, as usual, we checked out at 10:00 in the morning... First, we went from Bandai Gold Line to Bandai Azuma Lake Line. I took the opposite route to the Bandai-Azuma Skyline.
As yesterday, we gained a little more elevation and the visibility became worse due to fog... I thought, "Oh, it's going to be another bad day on the mountain pass... I thought to myself....
After passing through Jododaira, the weather cleared up. We enjoyed the Bandai-Azuma Skyline, which we hadn't been able to drive recently due to the volcanic activity.
As far as I know, the area around Jododaira is one of the most beautiful roads in Japan.
Since I was running in the opposite direction from usual, the view was somewhat fresh, and I stopped many times at short scenic sections to admire the scenery.
Unfortunately, as soon as we started to lose a little elevation, we were plunged into the fog again....
We had no choice but to drive down the mountain at a slow pace because our glasses were wet from the drizzle and our visibility was terrible....
Miyagi: Zao Echo Line
We continued on to Akita, where our lodgings for the day were located, but we had to keep driving at a higher altitude or we would die from the heat. We went into Miyagi Prefecture for a moment, and then changed direction to Yamagata on the Zao Echo Line....
Driving in the fog again... The rain started to fall from the I thought about giving up on the Echo Line and taking a shorter route... I thought about it, but
I searched on Twitter and found a tweet from someone who seemed to be running a little ahead of me. The weather wasn't too bad up there, so we headed for the Echo Line.
But unfortunately, it was already drizzling all the way to the point where I took this picture... I enjoyed the twists and turns a little bit, but I couldn't get a great view from the Echo Line.
Yamagata: Hot...
Now, if we wanted to get to the inn, we had no choice but to go down in altitude. Yamagata, where we had come from the Zao Echo Line... Hot... We took a break at Roadside Station Tendo Onsen.
I was a little hungry.tapiocaEat a ball of konjac....
Taking a break from the footbath while eating soft ice cream.
Akita: Yokote Yakisoba Dinner
After a short break, we drove along the plain to the inn in Akita.
We arrived in Akita just as the sun was setting. We had a B-grade dinner of Yokote yakisoba noodles, tonburi (pork belly), and junsai (junsai) in front of Yokote Station.
I didn't have enough, so I added some yakitori, which is said to be Hinai Jidori chicken....
The second day of summer vacation touring is over.
