Around Tsugaru and Shimokita peninsula... I can't do that... The typhoon is coming.
Well, it's morning in Aomori. Our next lodging is in Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture, which is relatively close in a straight line. Today, we'll drive along the Tatsudomari Line on the Tsugaru Peninsula, and then head to the Shimokita Peninsula to see the tuna of Oma and the itako of Osorezan... This was my plan when I first bought the hotel, but...
Yeah. There's a typhoon approaching. It's heading north along the Sea of Japan, so if you're in the Iwate area where we're staying, you'll be right in the direction of the typhoon... However, it's going to be rough in the afternoon in Iwate too!...
It's such a beautiful morning, but we decided to hedge our risk and just move between hotels quietly today....
Oirase Stream, escaping from the typhoon
However, it is indeed the northern Tohoku region. If you leave the city for a while, all the routes you take are very pleasant.
When we crossed the bridge over the dammed lake on top of the mountain, the wind gauge showed a wind speed of 15m/s, which was a bit scary..... We took our first break here.
Clear water. Good.
Play in the water for a while and feel refreshed.
After taking a break at Towadako, we should get out of here.
Then, I went to Lake Towada for a quick walk.
Perhaps it was because of the approaching typhoon. Even though it was the middle of the Obon vacation, traffic was generally light. Or is it like this in the north-east? After this, we continued on our way to Iwate. We took a break for soft-serve ice cream at Roadside Station Shingo "Mamikinodaira Green Park"....
Without being distracted by signs like this, we headed for the inn without taking a break... No, I felt like I shouldn't stop here... I had a feeling...
just on time
So I slipped into the parking lot of the inn before 1:00 pm, I believe.
There was still some time before check-in time, so we left our helmets and side bags at the front desk and ate first. We went to an appropriate sushi restaurant and had lunch while watching Koshien.
The rice was a little soft and watery because it was new rice... Or is this the norm around here? I wonder if this is the norm around here.
I had dinner at the restaurant and when I left, this is what I saw.
We were able to park at the inn at the very best time.
What? Do I have to go home tomorrow?
I checked in at 3:00 pm. The inn had a hot spring, so we took a relaxing bath and washed our clothes at the laundromat....
It's summer vacation, and I'm still dealing with the work I've accumulated while touring....I was going to do this, but my travel laptop is gone.
Maybe it's the vibration... It starts up, but I can't do any work with it... I have a feeling I'll have to go straight home and work tomorrow.
Oh... You forgot to stop by Aomori Gundam!
And this is actually what I realized after I came home... This touring wasEnjoying the Gundams of Tochigi and FukushimaWe started off with the idea of going to the Aomori Gundam, but we were actually planning to go to another place to see the Aomori Gundam... We could have stopped by if we had tried a little harder... No, we could have stopped by after checking out the next day... but...
So, I'm going to have to go back to Aomori for another touring trip.
