The first day we left at 11:30, yesterday we left at 10:00, and today we left at 9:00... Even though it was earlier, there were already no other bikes in the parking lot, and it has become customary for touring riders to leave late in the morning!...
Today I have a meeting with a friend in Aomori in the evening, so let's hurry ahead... We drove through the city where the temperature was rising rapidly....
We climbed up the mountain....
In the blink of an eye, we were at the border of the prefecture.
On the Hachimantai Aspite Line, I was taking video with my Gopro from the beginning of the climb to the prefectural border, but I couldn't record any sound.
Odometer at 30,000km.
Today's destination was the port town of Fukaura in Aomori Prefecture, but if we went straight, it would be less than 200 km away, which was too close, so we took a circuitous route.
It was just lunchtime, so I thought, "Maybe I'll have some soba noodles at the station, or buy some ekiben and eat them under the blue sky..." So I stopped by Matsuo Hachimantai Station. It's probably the starting point for Hachimantai sightseeing, so there must be some stores there, right? That's what I thought, but... The reality is this.
Unmanned station without even a vending machine. I had no choice but to go ahead and do it.... It's been almost two years since we got the bike, and the Ninja 650 has now reached 30,000km on the odometer.
It took a little longer than I expected because I couldn't drive it as much as I wanted to, but now it's a great used car.
I think I'll have to do some maintenance after this touring to keep riding for a long time to come.
Aomori:Tsugaru-Iwaki Skyline
So we continued on our way to Aomori without eating. Actually, I used the highway to warp a little bit, but... We were getting closer and closer to our destination.
We're going to climb the mountain you see in front of you now!
This is the Tsugaru-Iwaki Skyline, which I've been wanting to visit for a long time after seeing this picture somewhere when I was hanging around on the web.
Iwaki, the highest mountain in the Tsugaru region, also known locally as Tsugaru Fuji, from near Haguro Hot Spring Village to the eighth station. The road is 9.8 kilometers (km) long, with 69 consecutive curves along the way, and it takes about 30 minutes each way to reach the eighth station by car.
I thought there were 69 hairpins, but in fact there were 69, including the gentle curves from the gate to the toll booth.
After about the 40th goal, I felt like "Is there more?" but the wind was cool when I arrived at the goal.
It is said that the altitude at the beginning of the climb is about 500m, so we climbed 700m, and the surrounding scenery was clear, so it was very comfortable.
There is a lift to the top of the mountain, but since I was a solo-tourist, I passed on it.
Watching the sunset with friends
And after that, we headed towards the sea. I met up with Mr. A, who was from Tokyo and had been working in IT in Tokyo for a long time, but got married and had a baby, so he made an I-turn to Aomori after a long time.
I asked him to take me to a nearby sunset spot while we talked about what we've been up to.
There was going to be a lantern floating ceremony at the harbor at night, so I told him to take the kids and his wife and released them early. I drove for about an hour and went to the hotel.
Tonight's dinner was at Osaka King's in the shopping mall, and it was not even good, just gyoza and cold noodles....orz
