The long rainy season with almost no sunny days is over. The rainy season has finally come to an end, despite the intense heat. We can now go touring, which we have been unable to do for a long time!.... But he's still sleeping in....
I set my alarm for 6:30 a.m., but I was up until past 3 a.m. the night before and didn't get out of bed until 9:30 a.m... So I got out of bed at 9:30 a.m. I got ready slowly and left at 10:30 a.m., which is the usual pattern....
We started off by refueling at a nearby gas station and then checking the air pressure.
After driving from Tomei to Ken-O Expressway to Chuo, we took our first break of the day at Yatsugatake PA... It's extremely hot... I wore a short-sleeved t-shirt over UV-cut and sweat-absorbent compression wear, a Rough and Road mesh jacket, and ELF mesh Synthese on my feet. Hot... I wet a towel soaking wet and wrapped it around my neck without wringing it out, using the vaporized heat of the dripping water to regulate my body temperature as I continued on.
After exiting the expressway at the Suwa Minami Interchange, all we had to do was gain elevation.
Rain and the Mugusa Pass
That's why I came to the Mugusa Pass.
As expected from an altitude of over 2,000 meters, the air was pleasant, as if the intense heat of the world below was a lie. The weather is not so good, but the cool and humid air is also delicious. We took a short break at a toll parking lot (100 yen for bikes).
The weather wasn't great, but it felt good... But it was.....It's raining. And it's raining a lot.
There was a cloudless sky ahead of me, so I thought it must be a passing rain. I thought it was just a passing shower, but it seemed like the rain clouds were pushing in closer and closer to where I was. I thought it was just a passing shower, but it seemed like the rain clouds were pushing in closer and closer to where I was. So, we started again.
Of course, I didn't bring any rainwear with me, so I was running wet... It's cold!
Even though it was August, I turned on the grip heater in low mode and headed down the mountain. After a little bit of driving, we passed through the rain clouds and came to a comfortable winding road where the road surface was dry.
Then to the Venus Line.
And here is the next one. This is the Venus Line, which is also a standard route during extremely hot weather. First, we took a short break by Lake Shirakaba....
We took the usual route from Daimon Pass to Kirigamine Kogen Drive-in Kirinoeki via Kurumayama Kogen. We stopped here and there to admire the spectacular view, which was the same as usual.
There were a lot of clouds, so it wasn't a clear blue sky, but it was still a spectacular view. It's been a while since I've seen it."Everything in sight is green."It's a great way to enjoy the scenery.
So, we had our first meal of the day at the Fog Station. Sansai soba and grilled takana. At this point, the time was 16:30. I promised myself to wake up early next time, but I'm sure I'll forget soon.
After finishing our meal, we headed back down the Venus Line toward Daimon Pass, where the sun was beginning to set.
As we descended in elevation, the temperature rose overwhelmingly... However, when we started from Daimon Pass to Suwa-minami Interchange, the temperature gauge on the shoulder showed 24 degrees Celsius, so it was still cool and comfortable.
The Chuo highway was congested. It was still hot when we got off.
However, it was cool until we got to the bottom of the mountain. By the time we got on the highway, it was hot and humid again. We quickly got on the highway and stopped at the Yatsugatake PA for a soft-serve ice cream with molasses and kinako (soybean flour).
Once you get on the highway, no other events will occur.
We headed towards Tokyo on the Chuo highway. There was a sign on the road that said it would take more than three hours to get to Takaido due to an accident, but we slipped through.
After a final rest at the Hachioji PA on the Ken-O Expressway, we were already on our way home.
The first touring after the rainy season ended with.
Well, it's extremely hot again this year. The only way I can go is up in altitude... Where should we go next weekend...? The only destinations I can think of are Shibutoge and Kinseitoge... The road between Kusatsu Onsen and Shibutoge on the Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen route is still closed, isn't it?
