Abandoned touring. The reason is not only oversleeping.
Well, it's a rare sunny day off between typhoons and autumn rains. The day before, I started searching for a route to go somewhere. In the end, I couldn't decide where to go, so I just thought, "Maybe I'll go see the Yamba Dam, which was active during Typhoon No. 19. I went to bed at 23:00, which was early for me. I set my alarm for 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.... I did.Yeah. It was 10:00 when I woke up....orz
Of course, even at this time of the day, Hakone and Venus Line would be fine... But in the end, we decided to cancel the touring.
In fact, the day before, I thought, "It's been raining a lot lately and I've been neglecting my bike, so I'll at least lubricate the chain before tomorrow's touring..." So I took off the cover of the bike and poured some chain lube under the cloudy weather that looked like it was about to rain... The chain was rusty....
It's supposed to rain again from Monday onwards, so we decided to make it a maintenance day, which we've been meaning to do for a while now, but haven't gotten around to yet.
I'm going to take off the cowl and check everything first, not to mention the chain. I want to polish the exhaust pipes and change the coolant....
From a shopping walk before the maintenance....
So, I decided to go to Rough and Road Kawasaki to buy long-life coolant before the maintenance. It only takes five minutes to get there by car or motorcycle, but since I haven't been walking much lately, I decided to take a walk. Along the road from my house to Rough and Road, there are stores that handle all four domestic motorcycle manufacturers, so I took a detour as I went. First, I went to Suzuki.
In the store, there are used MV Agusta F4 with half cowl (I think it's F4 because the cowl says "F4"), blue GSX-S1000F, red GSR750, etc. The GSR is a bit reasonable price, 400,000-600,000. The GSR was reasonably priced at 400,000-600,000. The GSR was priced at 400,000-600,000. There was a silver and black new Katana on display. I wonder if it's available for immediate delivery.....
And now for Kawasaki.
It's been two years and four months since the car was delivered. The odometer has already passed 33,000km.Heavy maintenance planned for Ninja 650But the store where I bought it is a bit far away and not a Kawasaki specialty store, so I thought it would be better if I could ask for help from a store nearby. So I decided to stop by. Also, I was hoping to get some information about the Z H2 (supercharged naked bike) that we will see at the Tokyo Motor Show... That's what I was thinking.
The inventory was a little low in the store, but I talked with the manager. He told me that there would be a dealer meeting the day before the Tokyo Motor Show, so I could get some information there. He told me that they still don't know if the new 4-cylinder model will be 250 or 400. When I asked him about maintenance, he answered reassuringly, "We have a lot of typhoon-damaged vehicles in the shop right now, so we're a bit busy, but of course we can do it for you.
Musashikosugi was flooded, so there may be some submerged cars here. I'm going to go to the shop again, this time with my Ninja 650.
Next is YAMAHA.
The XSR900 and 700 were lined up here, so I observed the differences in size and feel.
The last one is Honda, but it's always dark in there and you can't really tell where the entrance is, so I'll pass.
I went to Rough and Road and bought some coolant from WAKO'S, and then headed home.
Shop at WORKMAN
On my way home. When I passed by Workman, I thought, "Oh, maybe they have Ride On Aegis, which is rumored to be for riders," so I went into the store. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I was looking for, but they had a lot of good winter wear that I could use for winter touring.
In the middle of winter, I use electric heating for my top, bottom and gloves, but last year my electric heating pants broke... I can get them replaced for half the price of new ones, but I haven't made arrangements yet... I thought that if I had a Ninja 650 with a full cowl and no direct wind, maybe I could use thermal pants... I thought.
And for when I go to the convenience store."You can also wear them with heels on."I bought only the shoes that I wanted to wear....
I left the store to strip the cowl and do some maintenance while it was still light.
Why bonfires?
To drain the coolant, all you have to do is remove the drain bolt and the radiator cap... But when I got home, I realized that I had to do something. "Huh? Aren't drain bolts supposed to have washers? I know the new drain bolts are for oil changes, but I wonder if they're the same size?"
So, the Ninja 650.Service Manualor something like thatQuick ReferenceI'll have a quick look at some of them, but I can't find any mention of the coolant drain bolt size... I'm sure it's there if you read it in detail, but it's too much work to read the English document: .... Just as I was wasting my time, I received a picture on Facebook messenger from an acquaintance who was on a camping trip to the Pond in the Sky, with the tent already set up and the fire ready....Oh! I'll build a fire too!and change the policy.
We had two boxes of firewood the last time we went to a bonfire in the car, but we couldn't use it all up, and almost a whole box is still lying in a corner of the kitchen. Today must be my chance to digest it!
And then I found myself here.
The riverbed still bearing the scars of the recent typhoon damage. Koremasa barbecue site.
I heard that it was completely submerged when typhoon No. 19 hit. There were several groups of people at the barbecue area, and a friend of mine had built a bonfire there a few days ago, but the baseball field and tennis courts attached to the barbecue area were closed.

I started the fire. I bought an extra bundle of firewood at a local home improvement store, thinking that the leftover wood from the other day might not be enough, so I started a large fire.
However, the authentic firewood that we purchased today is so thick that it should have been chopped with a machete before use.
The thickness of the wood is different from the boxed firewood I had left over from last time.
Today, I came here by car because I had both extra wood and leftover wood. The parking lot here closes at 21:00. If you're on a motorcycle, you can get out through the gap in the chain, but if you're in a car, you'll have to take a cab home and come back the next day to get your car... The bonfire started at about 5:30 p.m., so I kept burning the fire with a strong flame to burn everything in three hours, but...
In the end, it was already past 8:00 p.m. when we had burned all the extra thick wood... We used only a few sticks of the leftover wood from last time and ran out of time... I took the rest home again, and Sunday was over.
