I'm pretty sure that's the first thing that struck me as odd.The second day of Gifu touring last October.。On a slightly chilly morning, when I was leaving the hotel, the cell was running unusually weakly, and the engine started just in time. I had been riding a lot in the winter, including New Year's Day New Year's Eve touring, and even used electric heaters, gloves, and grip heaters, but there was nothing wrong with it, so I left it alone. So I thought I had to get serious about it.In November, when I measured the voltage for the first time in a while. That's right.
Idling - Even if you rev the engine a little, it won't reach 14v at all.
So I thought I'd buy a Taiwan Yuasa battery, and while I was on the road I looked in places like 2Rinkan and NAPS, but they only sold GS Yuasa batteries, or compatible batteries from manufacturers I didn't know well, or lithium batteries, but not Taiwan Yuasa. And the GS Yuasa battery was quite expensive, about 18,000 yen.
So I got it by mail order. The price was in the 13,000 yen range with a courier slip for battery disposal, so I decided to go with GS YUASA.
You can't change the battery with the on-board tools.
It was sent to me pre-charged, so I checked the voltage in my room....
I put on the very nice army gloves that came with it and started working.
I was able to easily remove the battery terminals, but I couldn't get the battery out of the way because of the seat fixing bar. Moreover, the on-board tools do not have the right size tool for the nut that holds this bar in place.
Why not? I thought to myself as I used the tools I had.
I think I bought this because I couldn't remove the cover of the drive sprocket with the in-car tools. Amon mini ratchet wrench set. Super handy, but unfortunately it seems to be discontinued... I should have bought another one....
So, unbolted it in a circle....
After removing the old battery, install the new one.
I also had to rewire the backyards of the electric heaters.....
The job is done!
Yes, get more than 14v voltage
It's still clumsy as ever, but after a bit of time with the engine running, it maintains around 14v. I'm sure this will help in the middle of winter... I guess?
