Start maintenance
As I've mentioned in the past, I've started heavy maintenance work on the suspension, which has been delayed due to various reasons.
I'm planning to overhaul and grease the front and rear suspension, front fork, swingarm, and other consumables such as air cleaner elements and plugs. I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish it before the end of the year, as some of the bearings are behind schedule.
Today, I'm starting with removing the OHLINS for now and sending it to Labo Carrozzeria for maintenance.
I'm scared of scooters.
First thing in the afternoon, I went to the bike shop where I wanted to have this work done. In the end, I decided to go to the second closest store to my house, Bright (Kawasaki's official distributor for parallel imported bikes).
It was going to take a while, so I borrowed a 50cc scooter as a loaner car and went home once....
Riding a moped scooter for the first time in 30 years. Too scary!
Changed the rear suspension from OHLINS to standard suspension.
I was working at home for about 3 hours when I got the call that the job was done, so I went and picked up the Ninja. The rear suspension has been changed from the 30,000km old OHLINS to the new standard suspension.
There is not much difference between a completely finished OHLINS and a brand new standard suspension that has only been run up to the point where it just blends in... I think.
When I first tried to run with the OHLINSHowever, I wondered if the rear suspension was already worn out, or if the OHLINS springs in the front had a big effect....
Hopefully all maintenance will be completed by the end of the year.
When I'm done, I'll change the tires... Money....orz
I saw a bike I liked.
In fact, there was a bike that I had been waiting for the announcement for the past few days. This is it.
The matte black Honda CB1100RS is available for order for a limited time, with a planned production run of 200 units.
This fall, I was struck by the look of this custom vehicle.
CB1100 Hakofugu-Cafe
I've been looking for a quote and a base model, but the current CB1100RS has a silver engine waist, front fork outers and chain.
I've asked Whitehouse, who is building this vehicle, to send me some pictures of his custom vehicle in the current RS version... It's not black enough: .... So I was about to lose my enthusiasm.
So, I stopped by Honda the other day and saw this.
I asked the store staff, "I want a black one.... I heard it was in 2017, and I searched used, but I couldn't find it..." I said to him. "There's going to be a limited edition matte black car on December 16th." I got the information that
And this is what came out.
Hmmm. Black.
This is perfect for the Hakofuku Cafe custom. The muffler can also be made black.
I've been thinking that my chance to ride a new air-cooled four-cylinder CB, which is an endangered species, is about to come to an end, and my heart is shaking with greed.
