Last week'sMultistrada 1200S試乗I rented a Ducati for the second week in a row, and for the second week in a row, I experienced the Testastretta 11° engine and rode about 400km.
I'm switching from the Ninja 400 to the Diavel on Friday night.
With its sci-fi looks and 240mm wide rear tires, it's bigger than most cars. It's not a free for all from the looks of it. ..... TheKazuyo Katsuma was also on board. This is a great motorcycle.
It's a Diavel Carbon model, and according to the explanation I received at the Ducati dealership the other day, it differs from the standard model in that it has Ohlins front forks and forged wheels by Marchesini (normal wheels are cast) in addition to the exterior.
If I were to buy this, would the VMAX be a good comparison?
It's a 2012 model and the odometer is pointing at around 12,500km.
Here are some notes on my impressions. Please note that this is the ramblings of an amateur.
I got in.
I can't help but compare it to the Multistrada 1200S since they are both powered by the same Testastretta 11° engine. However, I had the impression that the sophistication of the Multistrada 1200S was different due to the 5-year difference in its launch period.
Hmmm. As a result, to be honest, it didn't feel right. To be honest, it didn't feel right to me. So far, I've used three of them."I want it."I thought that this was a good idea."If I want to ride again, I can just rent it again."When I returned it and switched to the Ninja 400, I didn't notice any negatives when comparing it to the larger models, which I had noticed with the previous three. When I switched to the Ninja 400 after returning it, I didn't notice any negatives when comparing it to the larger models, which had bothered me on my previous three bikes.....
On the other hand, the Ninja 400's lightness, and the fact that it can be ridden around town with the engine running at full throttle, made me feel like I'd made the right choice in buying this bike.
Given the choice between the Diavel and the Ninja 400, I would definitely choose the latter.
Lovely place.
DesignThe one, the only, the crazy attention. When I returned to my parked bike, I found people watching me and asking me questions. Even from inside a moving car, you can see that people are staring at it. Even the design of the side stand is elaborate.
Comfortable position, footing & seatThis type of car body is"cruiser (i.e. warship or cabin cruiser)"I'm convinced that's what they call it. When I returned the bike and switched to the NInja, I put my foot on the brake lever instead of the step. In addition, the seat is shaped to support your hips, and the seat height is low enough that you won't fall off your feet.
EngineIt's more than a heartbeat."explosion"When I switched to the NInja 400, I felt like I was riding a motor.
Maneuverability and sense of securityThe extra-thick rear tire and the front wheel's ground contact made me feel no uneasiness even on slightly rough surfaces. I was wandering around without a navigation system, so I had to go into mountain roads and pass through a few dirt roads, but I could drive normally at low speeds.
Hmm? What is it?
Fairings and screens are necessary. The 1200cc engine has a large displacement, so there is plenty of room for high-speed cruising. The enemy on the highway this time was"wind"It was a great experience. It's been a while since I've ridden a cowl-less bike on the highway, but if you do buy one, the touring screen is a must. I was also hit by a lot of bugs.
Anyway, it's hot.If you're cruising at a certain speed, it doesn't bother you, but when you're slipping through traffic on the Tomei Expressway at 40km/h to 50km/h, or when driving in town, the heat is unbearable. Especially on my right leg, I felt like I was going to get a hot burn instead of a cold burn. There is a muffler guard attached to the exhaust pipe at the calf, but the muffler guard itself is too hot to touch. ..... I don't think I'll be able to ride in the middle of summer.
No fuel gauge. The current model is said to have an LCD display, but the model of the year we borrowed had no fuel gauge, unbelievably......
There is no click feeling when operating the blinker button. It was the same with the Multistrada, but when I operated the blinker, it didn't feel like it was clicking and it felt like it was squishy, so I ended up looking at the indicator to make sure it was on. I'm sure it's an individual thing, but the right blinker in particular was kind of hard to turn on, and even when I thought I had operated it, it didn't light up. Also, the blinker cancel button changes the driving mode.
- Right blinker on (I thought it was on, but it wasn't)
- Cancel blinker (change operation mode with the intention of
I often end up doing the same thing. I would prefer to have a separate button for drive mode control like Multistrada. This is the control button on the left side of the steering wheel. The upper one is Diavel and the lower one is Multistrada.
There is no other vehicle that can compare to this one, especially in terms of design, so if you're into it, you're in for a treat."It's the only way."But unfortunately, the rest of the bike was not for me.....
