I've been saving the Izu Peninsula and Boso Peninsula as winter touring spots for when the mountains in the Gunma and Nagano areas are too cold to visit.
Since I may not be able to go to the mountains anymore, I think I'll go to Izu tomorrow..... I was sitting on the kotatsu watching the recordings I've accumulated, thinking: .....
Three hours of TV until midnight: .... Naturally, I slept in today: .....orz
But today is the first Izu of the season. Highest temperature 17 degrees Celsius: ........ Huh? Maybe it was OK in the mountains?
I needed to scout out restaurants in Hakone-Yumoto for work, so I took the Tomei-Oda-Atsu route to Hakone first. I went to the Tokuni Pass.
We continue on to the Izu Skyline. As usual, the traffic is light and the road is pleasant. It's not as good as the Nishi-Izu Skyline, but we enjoy the beautiful scenery and winding roads.
Actually, from the moment I left home. ”I'm going to have to gas up somewhere....." But I didn't care, and halfway through the Nishi-Izu Sky Run, I had enough left in the tank to finish the run.The last scale on the gas gauge began to blink........ I thought, "Well, it's only about 20km to the Amagi Kogen Tollbooth, the last stop. So I switched to fuel-efficient driving and kept driving. I parked on the shoulder of the road when I got out of the tollbooth and searched for a nearby gas station on my phone.
Well, Google says that the nearest gas station is 10 km away.
The fuel gauge was blinking, and I thought I had 2 liters left (I was wrong about this). This means that I should be able to run 40km to 50km, so I have more than 20km left. There was plenty of room to spare, but there was always the chance that something might happen. .... I hurriedly went to the nearest gas station in the direction of Ito.
Nothing to give oil!
It was only 12.2 liters, which means we still have almost 3 liters left. I didn't need to rush into anything. It's been four liters since the flashing. So that's what you're saying.
We regained our composure and started again. We took a break at a convenience store near a gas station and thought about where we were going. ”So that's the Amagi Kogen tollbooth we just left..... Oh, let's go to Amagi Pass......"
So we went to the old Amagi Tunnel, famous for the novel "Izu no Odoriko" by Kawabata Yasunari.
LED 2 light headlight bright..... Unemotional......
At this point, it's 2:30 p.m. ..... The sun will set in a little over two hours. The sun sets early in winter: ..... As usual, I regretted not getting up earlier, but headed home. On the way, we stopped at the Joren no Taki waterfall for a snack........
We could use freshly picked wasabi from the adjacent wasabi field as much as we wanted, but we couldn't eat soba because the meal was already served. But we couldn't eat soba noodles because the meal was already served, so we had to put up with boar meat buns. We were not sure if it was good or not, so we grated a little wasabi and sat down.
The waitress. ”I'll put the horseradish away now. Shall I grate more and bring it to you?" But it's a bun + horseradish..... I thought this was enough and refrained.
Big mistake. This horseradish is super delicious. It's spicy, but also sweet and goes really well with meat.........
With regret in my heart, I headed towards Hakone. I thought I could make it to Yumoto while it was still light, but as I was running .......Thick fog!
We finished today's touring by trotting down the mountain. I overslept, so I didn't gain any distance..... It was about 350km.
