Touring once a week: ...... So we went out to Izu.
Table of contents for this article
Late departure as usual.
We left after 9:00 a.m., staying up late the night before as is customary.T-shirt purchased at KCBMand a mesh jacket for summer. Today at Fuji SpeedwayHarley EventsIt seems that there are a lot of Harley's in the area, and you can see a lot of them.
The weather was fine and we were cruising comfortably. There was almost no traffic, so we took the New Tokyo-Nagoya Expressway. As usual, the road has a strong crosswind.
After entering the Izu Peninsula, there was no conspicuous traffic jam, and the touring was comfortable. We reached Nishi-Izu in no time at all.
Mt. Fuji view point?
We usually approach the Izu Peninsula from Higashi-Izu, but this time we took the Nagaizumi-Numazu Interchange to the Izu-Jukan Expressway. I've never been to the northwestern part of the Izu Peninsula. The first destination of the day was here.
Xipu River Pear
After cruising along the pleasant road along the sea, we slipped into the parking lot. If you are coming from the Numazu side, the parking lot will appear right after you turn the corner, but I checked the location beforehand, so I didn't miss anything. Let's take a look at the scenery.
Yeah, I thought it would be something like that....... Fuji at this hour, right?
By the way, this point was supposed to look like this if there were no clouds. If there were no clouds, we would have been able to see Mount Fuji like this.
Well, let's see what happens next time.........
MOTOBASIC way ......
We regained our composure and started driving toward Doi. The road was rattling and moderately winding. It was a nice ride, but I felt like, "I've seen this road before...... I felt like .......
If you've been following Kawasaki car information on YouTube, you've probably seen this road at least once. I see. A winding road with little traffic and moderate ups and downs. It's perfect for a test ride.
I recommend squid bowl.
And today's lunch was here. Nishina Fishing Port. I used to love the Ukishima beach in Nishi-Izu and went snorkeling there many times every summer, and what surprised me the most was that there were squid swimming below me. Today, I would like to let the squid of Nishi-Izu enter my stomach.
I chose the "Ikasama-don", a bowl of vinegared rice topped with sashimi squid and pickled squid. I thought it might not be enough, so I added some tatsuta-age (fried sasaki).
Oh man, it's so good!
The entrance to the restaurant was a little difficult to find, but despite the combination of fine weather, Saturday, and lunchtime, the restaurant was empty. The ratio of tourists and locals is about 50-50, which is good. I have not been able to find a good place to eat in Nishi-Izu so far, but I recommend this place at lunchtime.
Akaihama open-air bath at Unmi Onsen (mixed bathing ).
After the meal, we took a break on the beach. We parked our bikes at Unmi Beach and took a leisurely coffee and cigarette break.
As we sat down to rest at the pier, we saw a footbath on the other side of the beach. This is also a great place to take a break from touring........But I've also done my homework on the baths.
Akaihama open-air bath at Unmi Onsen.
The ocean is already in front of me...... When it comes to open-air baths by the sea in Izu, Kurone Iwa-buro in Higashi-Izu is famous, but Nishi-Izu is different in its remoteness. There are almost no parking spaces in the vicinity, and even I, who have passed this road dozens of times by motorcycle or car, did not notice the difficulty in understanding the location until now. I enjoyed the private open-air bath.
By the way, here is the location.
If you don't drive slowly, you will miss this sign.
There is a path on the slope, so we descended for a few minutes. On the other side of the changing room, which looks like a ruin, there is a hot spring with an incredible view.
I understand that the locals are doing the cleanup.Free and spectacular。After warming up in the bathtub, you can go swimming naked for the first time this year.I'm sorry.
And then we were on our way home.
It was past 3:00 p.m. when I was slowly enjoying the open-air bath. In fact, I was planning to go around Minami-Izu and go back northward on the Higashi-Izu side, but since I had slept in and left late, I didn't think I could afford it. We turned back the way we had come toward Doi and headed for the Nishi-Izu Skyline.
I saw on my phone that Izu Sky Run was open until 4:00 p.m., so I headed toward Hakone via Shuzenji. From Hakone Shindou, I took Route 1 to the Atsugi Interchange on 246 because the Yamato Tunnel was said to be congested. After eating curry and pork cutlet at Ebina SA, we finished today's touring.
Next week (weather permitting), I plan to go to Gifu to see Monet's Pond.
