I'm not sure what to wear.
I had some errands to run on Saturday, so I went touring on Sunday. The night before, I checked the weather forecast for Nikko, Nagano, Gunma, and many other places, and found that the lowest temperature was below 15 degrees Celsius at high altitudes.
もBut isn't it time for a mesh jacket already?
However, the highest temperature on the plains is almost 30 degrees Celsius. This makes it difficult to choose riding clothes: .....
In the middle of summer, I've been wearing a dirty, gray Ruff and Load mesh jacket, but I'm thinking of a SIMPSON mesh jacket (the orange one) that's a bit more weatherproof than that....... Or a leather jacket with the inner liner removed and a short sleeve t-shirt: ......
The next morning. I went outside for a while, and the sun was pretty strong, so I ended up wearing a mesh jacket with an inner liner, and put the Kawasaki parka I bought at KTMC in my seat bag.
get lost where one is going
Next week, I'll be riding the GSX-S1000F around Mito.So I was thinking of going to Joshinetsu this week, but I left late at 9:30 a.m., so I was expecting traffic on the Kan-pachi road to Kan-etsu. There was no information on traffic jams on the Tomei highway, so I took the Tomei highway from the Kawasaki Interchange, the nearest interchange to my house, and thought about where to go while driving.
Originally, I was thinking of going to Joshinetsu .... In that case, I would have taken the Ken-O Expressway to Kan-Etsu, but as I drove toward Atsugi, I found that the road was too narrow.
Electric sign saying heavy traffic near Sagami-ko, Ken-O Expressway: .......
Then, we went straight on the Tomei. Continuing from last week, we headed to the New Tomei. After applying for the Metropolitan Area Touring Plan at the PA on the way, we exited at the Nagaizumi-Numazu Interchange, which is just within the range of this plan.
I just went to Izu last week, and I'll have to go back in the winter...... But then I got an idea.
Okuoi Lake Station
So, a spectacular view.
This is almost like an expressway, isn't it? This was my second visit to Okuoi Lake Station, heading north from the National Highway No. 1 bypass in Shizuoka Prefecture, which was flowing at a very fast pace.Last time was last Februarytouring.
When I went to the photo spot I found on my last visit, I saw several people with big cameras and heard a voice saying, "The train will be here in 10 minutes," so I snapped a picture with my phone.
When I'm done taking pictures, I'll head to the station..... Oh no: .... Going up and down the stairs is hard: ......I've gained about 10 kg since last February.Monna: ...... In the end, I didn't go to the station, just took a picture of the tracks from the stairs on the way and retreated: .....orz
Even after pulling up to the parking lot, the sweat doesn't go away for a while. Hmmm. Start dieting: ......
Sunomata Gorge
After a short break, it was time for tea. We moved on to Sunomata Gorge.
It was deserted at a good time, and there were some attractive signs for soba noodles.......
I did a little googling. We found a cafe with a footbath and hammocks.I'll take a look at the store.
But unfortunately, it was closed today for maintenance of the facility........ When I was about to leave the store, I was told that they were actually closed for business, but I could take a break in the coffee shop. So I ordered an iced coffee and relaxed.
When I thanked her and left the store, she said, "Oh, why don't you relax a bit?" He was very considerate of me....... I wondered if I looked too tired.
After leaving the store, I go back to my bike, but I can't miss the soft-serve ice cream while browsing the souvenir shop. Today it's matcha vanilla.
evening meal
Well, it's past 4pm at this point and I haven't eaten since this morning.
When I was thinking about what to eat, I had a good idea.Yes, we're in Shizuoka."Sawayaka's hamburger steak"Let's eat!
This is a famous hamburger steak family restaurant located only in Shizuoka Prefecture. I guess it's like the Hungry Tiger in Kanagawa. I wanted to eat some meat and I love hamburgers, so I set my navigation system to find a restaurant along the bypass on my way home and started driving.
We descended the mountain and enjoyed the last pleasant ride of the day into Shizuoka City.
We arrived just as the sun was setting. I was feeling good and hungry. But the parking lot was crowded and there was a huge crowd of people waiting in front of the restaurant........ I went inside and asked how long the wait would be.......
..... I was told there was a two-hour wait.
Too bad. I'll try Sawayaka again next time I'm in the Izu area in winter, but I had no choice but to go to a random restaurant along the bypass for ramen and dumplings.
>After eating lunch, I took the Tomei Expressway from Numazu and headed home. As usual, there was a traffic jam between Hadano-Nakai and Yokohama-Machida, so I laid down on a bench at the PA and rested until the traffic was cleared before heading home.
Today's mileage is 460km.
The Ninja 650 is getting more and more comfortable.
The 1.6 times more torque and power I got from the 400 to the 650 is still effective for touring, and I don't get so tired after 460km. Especially on the highway, it is easy.
As the odometer was approaching 5,000km and I was riding around town, I made a conscious effort to rev the engine to a higher rpm and the smoothness of the engine went up a notch from when I completed the break-in.
Of course, I am used to driving this car, but when cruising in the overtaking lane on the expressway, the engine seems to be running comfortably and there is no sense of strain.
When I got back to my house, I looked at the fuel consumption display on the meter and saw that I was driving a little over 25km per liter on today's touring, which is excellent fuel consumption.
But next week I'll be renting a GSX-S1000F, and I'm looking forward to that too. Now, where should I go?
