It's a weekday, but I'm going out.
Today is a Friday, but I have an appointment with a friend, so we went out to Kawaguchiko. My friend also rides a motorcycle, so we met there.
It was a beautiful day, so we headed down the road.By the time we arrived at Kawaguchiko, the odometer would be at 800km and the first stage of break-in would be complete.
First, I'm heading in the direction of Atsugi on 246......... It's hot!
I took a break at the 2Rinkan (Zama store) that I saw while passing by. I adjusted the air pressure in my tires a little higher.
It was hot and humid, so I took the Ken-O Expressway for a little while, ETC 2.0 discount applied.
Break-in phase 1, final phase
We got off the Ken-O Expressway at Sagamihara IC and headed for Doshi-michi. It was a weekday. Both the road and the roadside station were empty.
I finished breaking in the tires on the side.
Even though it's a big bike, it's not so big that it can be ridden in second or third gear. If you want to ride comfortably, you need to select the appropriate gear according to the corner curvature and up and down, but it is fun.
I was a little late for my appointment, so I took a break and started running.
Rain.
Once we pass Yamanakako, Kawaguchiko is just around the corner. The breeze by the lake is cool..... I was thinking to myself as I drove along the road with little traffic. "Ah~, we'll be there in about five minutes......" That's when I thought: ....
Guerrilla rain.
In no time at all, the road was flooded. The shoulder of the road was like a river. Of course, the bike and I were soaked.
The fact that the traffic guide in the video is not wearing a raincoat shows how sudden the rain was.
When I got there, my friend (on his red MT-07) had already arrived. By the way, this is what I wanted to do today.
I remember practicing karaoke a long time ago at a Ken Hirai concert. A friend of mine is a fan and won a ticket, so I was invited.
live (esp. concert, show, etc.)
Come to think of it, it's been a while since I've been to a live concert. It's been almost half a year since my last live performance at Billboard Live Tokyo in January with Orquesta de la Luz.
That's Ken Hirai. 95% of the audience was female. The women's restroom at the venue was already in chaos.
This may be the first time I've ever been to a live performance by a Japanese male solo artist, but he is indeed a good singer. I forgot that I was soaking wet and enjoyed the show.
one's way back
After the show, we decided to split up as we were both soaking wet. By the way, at this point, the odometer on the NInja 650 was ......
End of the 4,000 rpm bind.
But as expected, the temperature around Kawaguchiko is not as high as it is down here. When you speed up, your wet clothes will take away your body heat. Oh, I should have put the grip heater on from the beginning ...... As I was riding along, I was thinking that I should have installed grip heaters from the beginning. When I stopped at a traffic light, I looked to the side and saw ......
There's a neat little laundromat!
We stopped immediately. There is no one in the store. I was wearing a polo shirt over my Otafuku quick-dry shirt today, so I threw my mesh jacket, gloves, and polo shirt into the dryer. Jeans are at....... Well, this one will dry with the heat from the engine.
Ten minutes to wait. The warm upper body is complete.
I wanted to avoid the Doshi-michi road at night, so I headed towards Atsugi from Yamanakako. First, I shifted up from 3,500 rpm to 4,000~4,500 rpm, and ran at around 4,000 rpm in each gear. The engine felt a little rusty at first, but I wondered if it was my body getting used to it or the bike.
I was planning to take the Tomei highway from Atsugi, but 246 was flowing very smoothly, so I decided not to take the highway, but to increase the rpm in each gear while starting and stopping repeatedly.
But first, food.
After a short run holding 4,000 rpm while heading home, I gradually increased the rpm I used, holding 4,500 rpm and then 5,000 rpm.
We had a bit of fun playing around and ended up going all the way back down the road. The initial rusty feeling was gone. At first, the engine ran smoothly up to 5,500 rpm.
Current odometer reads about 930km. Hmmm. I think I'll run 670km on Saturday and Sunday to finish the break-in.
