Long live the double sleep... Let's go to Hakone....
I set my alarm for seven o'clock. I thought I'd go to Okuoi Lake Station for the first time in a while.(1st./Second time.)
However, I fell asleep twice in a row. Then I spent a lot of time lazing around before I left....
We'll start after 10:30....orz
So, I've set the article category as touring, but it's really just a Sunday ride....
However, unlike the Ninja 650, which has a maximum comfortable touring distance of 600km per day, the GSX-S1000 has an optimal distance of about 200km, which I rediscovered.
It's still a little cold up there....
So I gave up on the long trip and took the usual Tomei-Oda-Atsu route to Hakone, thinking that it would be better to have a bit of a bumpy ride with the GSX-S1000.
Normally, I would have taken the turnpike, but today I took the Hakone Shindou. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday during the fall foliage season, so it was crowded and I thought "I should have taken the turnpike...". I thought to myself as I trotted along, but it still took me an hour and a half to reach the Hakone Eco Parking.
I thought I'd go to Biker's Paradise Rental in Minami Hakone, where you can rent a bike for 3,000 yen per hour, and try out a bike or two for the first time in a while... I thought about it, but... I'm cold there, especially my hands.
I'm wearing fall/winter gloves, but unlike the Ninja 650, which is equipped with heated grips and lever wraps, the back of my hands and fingertips are cold.... I guess I can't enjoy renting a bike with no heating system... So I put on my electric jacket that I kept in my seat bag and moved quickly.
You can't see Mt. Fuji at this hour.
The next stop was Daikan-zan. I was a little hungry, so I thought I'd have something to eat. Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji was obscured by clouds.... Anyway, I parked my bike in the parking space... (Next to me is a Panigale V4S.)
We ate curry and other dishes at the Dam Track Cafe in the Sky Lounge.
In front of me was a popular manga. I started to watch the anime on Amazon Prime Video and failed within the first five minutes, so my life has nothing to do with Oniketsu.
I was thinking of going for a run along the Tsubaki line after I had eaten and rested at....
Next thing I know, I'm on the turnpike going down... Down there... Warm.
I bought this GSX-S1000 on the assumption that it would be a round-eyed custom model, but as I've been riding it around and tinkering with it in the garage, my eyes have gotten used to it, and lately I've been thinking that I could just ride it like this... I'm starting to like it. I'm starting to like it. I can't handle the torque and power, but...
I'll put in good tires when the weather warms up.
Going to buy a grip heater.
So I let my momentum take over and headed home... I stopped at NAPS in Kohoku.
I go into the store to buy a Kijima GH07 grip heater, which is one of the best parts for my NInja 650....
The price fluctuates quite a bit, so I'm not sure how much it is at the time you're looking at this page, but when I checked my phone from the store, it was in the 11,000 yen range.
On the other hand, the retail price of NAPS is 15,000 yen... That's a bit too big a difference.
I'm thinking of installing a grip heater myself, so I'll pass on buying one for this price difference.
And then I went home, and Sunday was over. By the way, when I was looking at various things after I got home, I found this one from Rakuten was the cheapest considering the point reduction, so I snapped it up.
