As usual, I stayed at a cheap business hotel, but I also kept my room at the hotel.

When we were touring in Okutadami at the beginning of October, we saw a few colored trees in the mountains of Niigata/Fukushima, but what we are looking for is more authentic autumn colors.

It seems that the Bandai-Azuma Skyline is already past its prime, but since I'm going down the road from Utsunomiya using the Metropolitan Area Touring Plan, I'm expecting to meet them in the mountains somewhere.
There's still some time before the weekend, so I might consider the route..... I think I'll try to avoid the places famous for autumn foliage because they will be congested.
