Go to Honda Dream
As of Wednesday, the forecast was for a break in the weather today and no threat of rain on Sunday... I had made plans to go to .... Cancellation....
I was working at home, but the sky from the window looked beautiful. The temperature was 13 degrees Celsius, a perfect day for a motorcycle ride, so I decided to go for a test ride at ..... I googled for test rides at a nearby dealership before setting off.
I came here, about a 10-minute bike ride from my house.
Even though it is directly affiliated with the same manufacturer, there is a difference in scale and cleanliness compared to Kawasaki Plaza Tokyo. I'm the only other manufacturer's car in the parking lot.
The maintenance space is also super clean. Compared to dealers of other domestic manufacturers, only Honda Dream has an atmosphere comparable to foreign car dealers. Oh, maybe the new Kawasaki Plaza in Osaka or Chigasaki is different.
The store is spacious. There are a lot of cars on display, and the apparel space on the second floor even has a fitting room, so it's probably more complete than most motorcycle accessory stores.
Test drive the Rebel 250
I called in advance, so I was guided smoothly and got to test ride this one: ..... Oh, come to think of it, this might be the first time I've ridden a 250cc bike after my return: .... I've never ridden a single-cylinder bike before.
First impressions. "It's tiny." This is a car that looks like a toy. Combined with the low height of the car, the body of the car looks like a toy when you look down at it. The feeling of a car that can be ridden comfortably on the street can be felt clearly. First, I took a quick picture while looking around. The name of the car is written on the rear fender.
Compact, single-cylinder engine. When viewed from the side, you can see through to the other side. Ska-tuned? (Not exactly.)
The meter area has the feel of a recent cruiser type. The round digital meter is the same asThe YAMAHA BOLT R that I rented. It reminded me.
After taking a look around, we started the engine. In this test ride, the staff doesn't stand beside you and leave you alone, so it's nice to be able to observe the vehicle without hesitation.
In this video, the exhaust sound is quite low-pitched and atmospheric, but the actual sound is a bit lighter and more "small-displacement single-cylinder! I think.
I rode around the course that I was given in advance. It was a short test ride of about 2km with four left turns. As usual, I'm not confident that I'll be able to tell anything from this distance of road test drive. There is.
- Good points
- HONDA Quality
It's a reasonably priced vehicle, in the 500,000 yen range for a new car, but when you step on it and start driving, it feels a bit more luxurious. I think the cost performance is quite high.
- Lightweight and compact
Naturally, with this shape, there is no need to worry about footing..... With a weight of only 168kg and a low center of gravity, this cruiser is surprisingly lightweight and easy to handle.
- Qualities as a custom material
The vehicle we rented was the model with the yellow tank, but there was also a gray colored one in the store.
I'm sure there will be a lot of custom parts, and it will be fun to customize it to your own style. I want to play with it like the model I saw at the Tokyo Motor Show and thought, "Cool! I want to play around with it like I did with the model I saw at the Tokyo Motor Show.
- Hmm? That's what I thought.
- An engine for turning and running.
If you want to keep up with the flow of traffic on a busy road, you have to rev the engine quite a bit from the start. As you can hear in the video I'm sure they worked very hard on the bass thumping sound, but unfortunately you can only enjoy it when the car is stopped at a traffic light. It would be fun to be able to drive on country roads at 30km/h .... I think it would be fun to ride at 30km/h on country roads.......
- Straightforward handling
Perhaps it is because the caster angle is high for a cruiser type, but it is easy to turn without feeling like a cruiser type. Even at intersections where I had to turn at low speeds, I was able to turn without the typical "I'm going to turn! I was able to turn easily without the feeling of "I'm going to turn!
I guess the 250 doesn't have enough punch..... After the test ride, I took a look at the Rebel 500 in the store.
I see this one is a paratwin, I wish the 500 was a single too. I also can't help but wonder about the price difference between this and the 250.... I wonder if it will reverse after a couple of years when it becomes used? This price.
Then we went to YSP.
Well, I wasn't quite sold on the Rebel, so on my way home I dropped by YSP, which is just a 5-minute bike ride from my house.
Only one other manufacturer's car in the parking lot here....
While looking at the SERROW that I've been interested in lately, I asked the staff for some explanations.
The CRF 250 RALLY that I tried to ride at the Honda Dream that I visited a while ago had uneasy footing... But the SERROW had no problem at all.
Unfortunately, the vehicle we were able to test ride was a loaner, so I'd like to go out touring with a rental bike when the weather warms up.
So, after looking at the XSR700 in the store, I went outside and saw a vehicle that looked interesting.
YAMAHA XTZ125
A reimported 125cc off-road vehicle made by Yamaha in Brazil. I straddled the bike, and the physique is almost the same as SERROW. I'm a bit tall, so I'm concerned that riding a small-displacement bike might make the bike look too small..... I have a concern that the bike will look too small when I ride a small-displacement bike, but this one is fine.
If I give up riding highways, this might be just the right size for a second bike. It's also easy on the wallet.
It weighs only 118kg, so it can easily go into the forest roads. Hmmm, this is very attractive.
YAMAHA FAZER125
This is a naked motorcycle made by YAMAHA in China. It's an injection model, so it's not too difficult to ride.
I haven't rented a bike lately because it's been too cold (no heating equipment), but it's kind of fun to test ride a bike on a nice day.
Maybe next time I'll go ride a big Harley or something.
