Last year's Tokyo Motor ShowHonda's Neo Sports Café Concept that I saw at
It was the coolest motorcycle I saw at the event.
I have seen CB125R and CB250R at motorcycle shops and Honda head office in Aoyama, but I can't find them at ordinary motorcycle shops because Honda models over 250cc were sold exclusively by Dream store. I've seen CB125R and CB250R at motorcycle shops and at Honda headquarters in Aoyama.
So I took a test ride at a nearby Dream Store. There are two Dream stores within 20 minutes of my house, Kawasaki Miyamae and Kawasaki Nakahara, but this time I went to the newly opened Nakahara store.
Since I had called in advance, all I had to do was write my name on the test ride application form and get a copy of my driver's license, and I was on my way.
I got in.
First things first. How cool it looks. The quality of the paint is especially noteworthy.
About the same footprint as the Ninja 1000.For a 177cm tall man (but with short legs), if I stretch my knees a little, both feet are tight but comfortable, and if I put both feet on the floor, I feel like my heels are floating a little.
I was told that I could come and ride as I pleased for about 20 minutes, so I thought I could drive a section of the Metropolitan Expressway if I had enough time, but I got lost in an area I was not familiar with and ended up just wandering around the city.
I was in SPORTS mode right after I started the test ride, but it was my first time riding the bike, and it was very straightforward and easy to ride as long as I rode around town without any hesitation.
Lovely place.
Easy to ride.
The center of gravity is a little high as a sport bike should be, and I'm sure it would be more comfortable on winding roads than 90-degree curves at intersections in the city, but it's still easy enough to ride for city riding. If the footing was just a centimeter or two better, it would be super relaxing to ride. I'm sure I'll be satisfied with the suspension preload adjustment once I get this one to myself.
My impressions of the bike tend to change a lot depending on the footing, since I usually have a Ninja 650 with great footing, but even with that out of the way, the bike feels very secure, including the position.
Oh, by the way, I was wearing DUNLOP SPORTMAX D214F tires.
HONDA CB's four-cylinder is smooth in every way.
GSX-S1000 with exciting back torqueThe engine is really smooth and runs like a motor. This is the common beauty of the CB series... I like the engine with a little more rustle, but...
By the way, the design of the cylinder head cover is cute and heartwarming in appearance.
Comfortable equipment
The ETC on-board unit (2.0 or not yet confirmed) is standard equipment, and the indicator is built-in in the meter. Grip heaters are also standard equipment without any discomfort. I didn't notice it during the test drive, but I noticed it when I was looking at the catalog after I got home.
Safety and driving equipment
It is equipped with ABS and TRACON, as well as a system that automatically flashes the hazard lights when emergency braking is applied. The front fork is a SHOWA SFF-BP upside down front fork. The front brake is easy to use & has a nice touch.
Quick shifter
It has a quick shifter for both up and down directions. It is equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, so clutch operation is not a burden, but it is super fun to have this when winding down. When I rode the BMW S1000RI've already experienced this in.
By the way, for a while after I started the test drive, I forgot that it was equipped with this feature and operated the clutch normally. In any case, the quickshifter doesn't give me much benefit in the city.
high quality
This is my favorite naked (stofy) bike at the moment.GSX-S750The &1000 is a bit of a letdown because of the cost reductions in the common key cylinder and other noticeable areas, but there are no gaps as expected in those areas. Well, of course, that's why the price is different.
The stitching on the seats is also very stylish.
Hmm? What is it?
There is no reason to be dissatisfied with the performance itself during a short test ride around town. If you are dissatisfied, it is the rider's responsibility... If you are dissatisfied, it is the rider's responsibility.
So, this is a personal thing of mine....
A slightly embarrassing sense of the future
The futuristic feel of the entire vehicle, including the headlights, which are super cool for a concept model. It looks like the rider would have to be dressed to the nines in clothing and a helmet....
The bike is more noticeable than the rider, isn't it? This one.
The luggage is at .... I can't load it.
It has a sporting short tail and a small rear seat. This is not a bike for carrying luggage.
When I buy a second bike, I will probably put a Hepco & Becker C-Bow on it as well, but this time, the design doesn't allow it.
summary
This was a spur-of-the-moment test ride, so I didn't have a lot of time to prepare.Even if I were to test ride a bike on the street for a short time, I wouldn't know anything about it....I reaffirmed that...
If you're considering buying a bike, you should rent a bike and ride it for a few hundred kilometers before you get scared.
Well, it's price range puts it out of the running for purchase... If I had the budget to buy one, I'd probably choose the BMW S1000R. Maybe.
