One week in Lake Hamana: Lake Hamana Sakumi Station
Woke up at 8am and left at 9am. It's a slow morning. The second day was a no-brainer. I had a rough plan."Take a ferry from Cape Irago to Mie Prefecture......"I was thinking that I would need to stay another night if I did that, and I thought I was having too much fun, so I decided to maturely go around Lake Hamana in the morning.
On the way, I googled and found an interesting place.
It's an unmanned station on the Tenryu Hamanako Railway......I went out to the platform. The Yurikamome is a bit of a mess.
According to the timetable, the train was supposed to arrive in about 20 minutes, so I went to a nearby convenience store to get some bread. So I went to a nearby convenience store to get some bread, and when I came back, the train was just entering the station. The birds were able to fly away and avoid danger, and came back as soon as the train left.
So I took a loaf of bread out of a convenience store bag, tore it off and threw it at him, and this is what happened.
The moment they recognize you as someone who will feed them, it's like something out of a Hitchcock movie. Some of them even wait for you to feed them here.
Birds are so light... I've had up to two birds perch on my head.
I was a little intimidated by the sheer number of people gathered & other people brought bread, so I left the station with half a loaf of stick bread from the convenience store.
In addition, I am currently writing this blog while taking a bite of the leftover bread from this event.
My long awaited oyster hippo bowl
After enjoying playing with the birds, it's time to eat. This isI was going to go eat at the beginning of December.I decided to try the winter-only gourmet "Oyster Hippo Bowl" at Hamanako, Hamamatsu.
I googled the night before at the hotel and found a store that was open on New Year's Day, so I rode my bike to Tateyamaji Onsen. It's a nice route with a great view of beautiful Lake Hamana on the right hand side: ..... But the settings of the chin-mounted SJ6 Legend are not so good: .... I'm not sure if you can just plug in an external mic to switch it off. The built-in mic seems to be picking up the audio and the wind noise is so loud. I'll have to learn how to use it during my New Year's vacation.... I was able to use the GoPro without reading the manual and take pictures right away, but the Chinese clone has so many settings that it's hard to master......
I arrived at the store.
Without hesitation, I ordered the oyster hippo bowl: .... But I was pretty hungry, so I ordered the set with sushi. I was actually thinking of ordering some kind of eel snack separately, but it was a bit expensive, so I didn't.
Rice bowl with boiled oysters baked in unagi sauce and topped with onions, seaweed, and tangerine peel.
I love oysters so much that I eat more than 100 oysters in a season, raw, grilled, fried, etc...... The best way to eat eel sauce is with eel.
3km to the moon
After lunch, we headed towards Tokyo, taking a detour. I think I'll take the Nihondaira Parkway, but before that, I'll make a detour.
Pretty famous."3km to the moon"It's a blue sign for the This road was pleasant, and I will revisit it when it gets a little warmer.
Route to enjoy Mt.
After that, I thought I would go to Nihondaira Parkway or Omaezaki, but I got caught in a traffic jam on my first visit to Japan, and it was past one o'clock when I started driving on the Route 1 bypass. The sun will set in three and a half hours...... There was also a lot of traffic on this road, so I couldn't go very fast.
In the meantime, with a full stomach and the warm weather (or maybe it was the Heatech electric heating wear), I was struck by a strong desire to sleep. We took a long break at the roadside station in Kakegawa.
I had a premonition that I might get sleepy if I stopped by too much, so I decided to go home early today. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any pictures, but I decided to go home while looking at the magnificent Mt.
Fuji, which was a bit far away at the PA on the way. The power lines are in the way.
As usual, I heard that the Tomei highway was congested from Hadano-Nakai to Yokohama-Machida, so I decided to take the expressway to the interchange, but I could still see Mt.
Gazing at the supermoon as I headed home
I got off the highway at the Susono Interchange, and then just drove home on 246. On the way, I saw a big yellow light next to a red light..... But then I realized it was the supermoon.
The highway was said to be packed with traffic for the return trip, but the 246 was unexpectedly smooth and there was almost no traffic. We had a dinner at a diner near Hadano City on the way.
Returned home around 8pm. The distance was not much, and the New Year's touring ended with only about 15km left to go to reach the 10,000km mark on the odometer.
