First sunrise in Higashi-Izu
After the return, the first sunrise touring has become a tradition at the beginning of the year. Well, even though it is an annual eventLast year, I overslept and it was my first sunset. But I'm not sure.
This year we succeeded in leaving at 4 am. Two and a half hours from Tomei - Odashi via Atami: ...... Arrived at the same place as two years ago 20 minutes before sunrise time.
It's hard to see in the photo, but there is a sidewalk and a wide roadside strip where you can park and enjoy the first sunrise.
Two years ago, I remember it was so cold that I couldn't stand it, but this year it was not as cold. But this year, it was not so cold, and my hands were fine even without gloves. I filled a THERMOS mug with hot coffee at a convenience store on the way, so I waited for the sunrise.
I left the WG-M1 with the time lapse setting at my feet, and here is the video: .... By the way, the time shown is about 20 minutes behind because the clock was off when I took it out for a while......
Enjoying the first sunrise
It would be nice to come and see it even on an ordinary day..... After enjoying such a beautiful sunrise, we headed south through Higashi-Izu, taking a break at Ito Marine Town as we did two years ago. The purpose is this. Oshiruko (sweet red bean soup) served for free!
The sun was shining, so I was working out a bit......feeling of emptiness in the stomach....
Breakfast with Kinmedai
We will continue to drive towards Minami-Izu..... I want to eat some food: ..... Where are the places that are open from early morning on New Year's Day? As a result, we went to the roadside station in Shimoda. The roadside station is located next to a fish market.
We had about half an hour before the cafeteria opened, so we spent it basking in the sun, picking up some snacks to sample at the souvenir shop, and looking at the seafood.....
The first meal of 2018 was a bowl of rice topped with pickled sea bream. Large bowl of rice.
Oh man, that's delicious.
Go around and go to Nishi-Izu: ..... Is that a cherry blossom?
Once we were satisfied with our stomachs, we took the usual route. We passed through HAKATSUZAKI to Nishi-Izu. As expected, the roads were empty and we reached our usual resting place in no time.
Our next destination was Manpuku-ji Temple in Doi. According to the information I got on Twitter the night before, we could see that thing........
I was fooled by the navigation system and got a little lost, but arrived at the site. What was waiting for me in the temple grounds?......
It's only January 1st and the cherry blossoms are still in full bloom.
My friend says that it looks like a plum and peach variety, but it's called Izu-Tohi cherry. The most famous early-blooming cherry trees in Izu are the Kawazu-zakura (cherry blossoms) in February and March, but in Doi, the cherry blossom festival starts in mid-January.
We were on it two days ago...... Boarding the ferry again
So I was very happy to enjoy the sunrise and the cherry blossoms. We parked our bikes at Matsubara Park, the main site of the Doi Cherry Blossom Festival, and took a footbath while planning our route. Today's lodging is at Lake Hamanako, so we plan to ride around Suruga Bay.
Fuji from the coastline of Nishi-Izu was completely covered with clouds, so I was looking at the map thinking, "Maybe I can't expect to see Mt. As I was looking at the map, I had an epiphany......Oh, by the way, there's a ferry from Doi to Shimizu Port.
I called around and was told, "It's that time of the year, so there are no motorcycles. So we headed for the ferry terminal.
I was the only one on a motorcycle, and the ferry arrived pretty soon after I was in the parking lot looking out at the ocean.
I was up early and sleepy, so it was a good idea to use the boarding time to rest. I didn't go out on the deck, but sat down and fell asleep. Fuji outside the window!
The boat ride took a little over an hour. It was a good choice as I was able to take a good nap break.
We went to Lake Hamana in the backlight and strong wind. Hamburg steak at Sawayaka
Today, I'm going to get into the inn early to watch a New Year's show and take the expressway from Shimizu Port...... The remaining distance on the misdirected navigation system is not decreasing..... It seems that I mistook the Route 1 bypass that I had seen on my phone's map for the Tomei Expressway......In addition, the backlighting made it difficult to see what was in front of me, making it extremely dangerous......Photochromic ShieldI really regret not having introduced it ...... In addition, there is a high wind warning and the crosswinds are goofy!....Feeling that my life is in danger, I get off the highway on the way to the hotel, but I'm going to be a little late for my scheduled check-in time...... So, let's have dinner first and then head to the hotel. The goal is this.Okuoi Lake Station Touring in SeptemberI stopped by on my way home from the airport and gave up after waiting for two hours."Sawayaka"The hamburger steak.
According to Google, the restaurant closest to the hotel is one of the Sawayaka restaurants that is not usually crowded, and there are not many people who want to eat hamburgers on New Year's night. .... So I went to the restaurant.....109 minutes wait.
I'm sorry. I was licking my chops...... But today I'm planning to stay at a hotel 5 minutes by bike from here. We'll get our tickets and check into the hotel first!
After taking a short break, we headed to the restaurant again and were seated after about 10 minutes of waiting. I thought it would be like the Hungry Tiger in Yokohama, but when I looked at the menu, I saw that it was very reasonably priced. I thought it would be like the Hungry Tiger in Yokohama, but when I looked at the menu, it was super affordable.
The hospitality of the staff is very nice. I added a salad to my hamburger and enjoyed it!.....In terms of taste and quality of meat, Hungry Tiger wins hands down... Well, considering the price difference, it makes sense.
So I checked into the hotel, took a bath, and went to bed easily...... The first day of 2018 is over!......
Continued on the second day.......
