Just in time for GW. A total of 13 courses across the country this time.
I wrote a bit about this the other day. However, I have been using the ETC on-board device for a long time."A fixed fee of 2,500 yen per night for expressway ETC travel within the designated course."Metropolitan area touring plan.
This year's plan was announced today, with registration starting on April 25.
If the pattern is the same as last time, you can apply for it while taking a break at the SA/PA if you want to apply for it before getting off the highway (that was the pattern for me). You'll have to sign up for this plan before you get on the highway! (Added on May 9, 2018)
The number of courses, as well as the scope of each course, is much wider than last year, which is a good thing. Last year's edition of the Tohoku Road Course was limited to Utsunomiya, but this year it was extended to Fukushima-Iizaka, making it a Tohoku Road Course in both name and reality.
The Kan-etsu, Joshinetsu and Chuo highway courses also seem to be very easy to use.
Something like a 1,000km day trip touring on the highway is realistic: ....

This is what the Kanto area looks like. Let's use it for the Shiga-Kusatsu-Kogen route scheduled for the 20th.
When I look at the course settings again, I feel like the feeling I had last year, "It would be nice if the range was a little wider ...." I feel like this is the embodiment of what I felt last year. For me, highways are not particularly fun to drive."Tools of Warp"So, the ability to warp longer distances is very welcome.
But then, Kanetsu, which could go as far as Numata last year, is now limited to Takasaki: ........ You need to approach Kusatsu from the Karuizawa side to get the benefit......
2018 Edition
Compared to the area of the 2017 version, for example, I thought it would be easy to go to the Sea of Japan area by Kanetsu, and then drive to Toyama~Kanazawa~Fukushima~Gifu and come back to ..... I thought it would be easy to do touring like that.......
2017 Edition
Well, it's a smart move to come in time for GW!
