So...XL883NandFORTY-EIGHTThis is my third Harley experience, following two Sportsters called the "Mere Old Man". Unlike the Sportster, which has a skinny step even at small intersections, I've seen comments that it's a fun bike with a high step that makes it easy to turn.
After all, it's an unpopular car.Used cars with only 2,000 to 3,000 km on them are usually in the 500,000 yen range: .... or even less than 500,000 yen in some cases. It's been done.
I've been interested in this car for a long time because of its unusual features such as its production in India, water-cooled engine, and the existence of a 500cc version (not sold in Japan).
So, here are my impressions. As usual, this is the ramblings of an amateur, and I'd like to point out that I'm writing this based on my memory after a few days.
I got in.
It is just the right size for a chopper. However, it is not difficult to ride on highways and winding roads with ups and downs at a reasonable speed. It's a very good bike considering the used price.
Of all the bikes I've ridden in the past."Strongest for city driving"The MT-07 from YAMAHA is a machine that can be an excellent city commuter as well.
Lovely place.
Just the right amount of torque and power for city driving
Horsepower is undisclosed, following Harley's example, but torque is 59Nm.
This is lower than my Ninja 650, which has 64Nm (6.5kgm), but that's probably due to the very low vocal rpm. If you're riding around town or on a touring bike, you'll get good acceleration. It's not like the 883 where you can just connect the clutch and go, you have to half-clutch and accelerate, but it's still good enough. I think the middle class is the best match for Japanese roads.
The style is Harley. The ride is naked.
The styling is instantly recognizable as a Harley. The step is a little high and mid-control, which is a bit confusing at first when you switch from a Ninja 650, but it's a little low for a cruiser, so the discomfort disappeared quickly. I rode the Doshi-michi road this time and only scraped my steps once on each side. The bike can be cornered almost like a naked bike.
This is a plus point, because with the 883N and the FORTY-EIGHT, you have to slow down and corner slowly when approaching a corner that is a bit tight.
It's not like the FORTY-EIGHT, where the rear suspension is useless to make it look rigid, so the ride is comfortable.
Modern Motorcycle
A larger radiator in front of the frame.water-cooled engineOf course, it is an injection type. It's the type of bike that's fun to open and close the throttle.
low price
Just a quick search on a used motorcycle website shows that vehicles like this exist.Current model with mileage of less than 2,000km. The price of a new car including sales tax is almost 1 million, but the price is too reasonable. This makes it easy to secure customization costs.
Hmm? What is it?
No heartbeat in the engine.
When the car is idling, it has a Harley-like flavor with unequal explosions, but when you twist the gas pedal, the heartbeat disappears in a flash."kodkod (Leopardus guigna)"but not"drunken"The engine runs like it's a Harley. If it wasn't a Harley, this would be a good choice.....
Build with a sense of cost reduction
For example, there are connectors popping out like this.....And the cables around the handlebars."cI've put it together for now!"It's like.Even though it's a part that can be dealt with later, it's pretty cold.
Oversimplified meter area
<The lack of a tachometer is not a problem (on the Sportster, the odometer can be displayed on the LCD), but the lack of a fuel gauge is indeed a problem for a motorcycle nowadays. Also, it doesn't have hazards, which I found inconvenient when parking on the shoulder or passing through at high speed.
Moreover"The cell turns even when the kill switch is off."If you're an owner, you probably won't mind, but if you're a cheapskate, you're probably not going to like ..... I'm not sure what to think.
But, well."Low-cost, middle-class cruiser"This is about the only thing I'm not satisfied with.
summary
If you buy this thinking it is a Harley, you might be wrong. It doesn't have the thumping feeling of a Harley. It's a very well made bike, but that can be a drawback. If it wasn't branded as a Harley, it would be popular..... If you're looking for an old-fashioned, easy to ride and affordable cruiser, this is the best match for you.
It seems to be reliable with the latest water-cooled Revolution X engine. It's fun to ride....... Oh, that's a REBEL!.... "Then YAMAHA is ....." So that's BOLT, huh?
I could have bought a Ninja 1000, but I chose to buy a 650, so I am more concerned about the size and brand of the car."A bike that suits you."This is the type of car that you want to choose. In that sense, I think it's the most cost effective model right now, as long as it's used. As a Thai-made Ninja 650 owner, I also feel sympathy for the Indian-made Street 750.
In that sense, I have a good feeling about it in general. However, if you were to ask me which I would rather have as a middle cruiser, this or the 883N, the 883N would win. If you were to ask me which one I'd want as a middle cruiser, I'd say the 883N would be the winner, even considering the difference in used prices.
Maybe I'll try renting it one more time... I guess.
