These photos areThe cut tunnel of Torosaka Daishi, which I visited two years ago.。
Hand-carved tunnels with chisel and hammer marks still fresh on the walls. I was told that there are still many places in Chiba Prefecture where you can ride a motorcycle through these hand-carved tunnels.
The Boso peninsula is too close for touring (about 30-40 minutes from my house after crossing the Aqua-line), and I haven't explored any of the fun corners yet, so I don't get out there much, but since it's an easy area, it seems like a good place to go for tunnels.
It'll be easy to go around like this.
I put the names of the tunnels into Google Maps, and it looks like I can easily get around with a total distance of less than 90km.
It looks like the perfect touring course for sleeping in and heading out in the afternoon.
It's like taking the Aqua-Line to the Boso Peninsula, visiting the tunnels, and then taking the Tokyo Bay Ferry home.
I'll check all of them.
Hmmm. I googled the name of the tunnel and found that one of the following is a "haunted place! Hato." That's the only search result I get.
