Resolving the urge to build a fire. Petite touring
The other day, out of nowhere. The urge to build a fire arose....
When I posted on Facebook that I wanted to have a bonfire, two of my workmates who ride motorcycles commented and said, "Me too!"
It was a weekday, but I went to have a bonfire in the evening. Our destination was here.
The riverbank along the Tama River is one of the few places in Tokyo where you can have a bonfire with no reservation and free parking. It's about 20km from my house, but I thought I'd call it touring.
Ignited on the riverbank
Two of my companions live in the 23 wards of Tokyo, but they live in Suginami and Shibuya, so it was a good walking distance for them too. First, one of them and I met at a home improvement store to buy firewood, and then we moved to the riverbank....
We arrived 20 minutes before sunset, so we quickly spread out our gear in a good spot.....
Ignition!
Another person joined us just as we were lighting the fire, so we spent some time in a daze looking at the dying sky. While we were relaxing, the sun was completely going down and we were having a good time....
Yes, this is what I wanted to do!
No, Kore, it's a wonderful time.
As we were talking and watching the fire, it quickly became dark. My companion, a SR rider who usually does camping touring, took out his B6... We roasted some sausages from a local convenience store and ate them. It was so good that I couldn't help but laugh. I guess it's a theory that everything tastes better when eaten outside while watching the fire.
After that, I roasted some marshmallows I bought at a convenience store and ate them. It was also extremely delicious.
So we spent some time looking at the fire and snacking... Finally, we boiled coffee.KCBM (Kawasaki Coffee Break Meeting)It was coffee time in a mug that I bought.
It only took about three hours, but I was very satisfied. The cleanup was a breeze. The firewood and charcoal I bought at the home improvement store were completely burned up to white ashes, so I put them in a convenience store bag with the garbage.
I'll go again.
And then, it was a quick and easy dismissal.
By the way, an acquaintance of mine who rides this SR is an expert at touring 800km a day, starting very early in the morning and returning late at night, mainly on the way down.
He often goes camping and touring, and seeing all the goods he brought with him stimulated my desire to buy more.
Especially for the B6. It's a great way to take a quick one hour fire break while touring.
I have a feeling I'm going to have to buy this....
