The day before, I finally arrived at a conscious capsule hotel in Osaka.
I slept for about 10 hours in the bed space that was large enough for me to stand up in and the mattress that was the same as a normal hotel. The bathrooms are clean and I was able to take a good rest. Thanks to this, I recovered completely.
If I can recover so well after just one night's sleep, is it possible that the food I ate on the evening of the fifth day was the culprit?
So, my appetite is back. I ate only one meal the day before, so I had a rare breakfast at the hotel.
Natural yeast bread and salad bar. It's so good. My body is craving vegetables... Another round!
Let's go straight home today.
I thought I'd go sightseeing in Kansai... But unlike in Wakayama and Shikoku, where I hardly encountered any crowds even though it was GW, here I was in a major metropolitan area....
GW, the only deer I saw were bored with the deer crackers, and I felt sorry for them. pic.twitter.com/gqRuhOUSCp
I'll come back to this area again. So, I was really thinking of staying another night in Gifu... I was thinking of staying one more night in Gifu, but I had some work-related matters to attend to while touring. I decided to go straight home today and started riding.
Leaving it to the navigation system, we headed east on a course that was a mixture of highway and bypass. On the way, I had my first soft-serve ice cream of the year and my first in 2024.
I ordered it without the red bean paste. But I'm not very good at it, so I ordered it without bean jam.
I've been using the grip heater almost every day on this trip so far, but today it felt like summer already. Today it felt like summer already. I was running without the inner lining of my leather jacket, and before I knew it, I was almost in Shizuoka.
Rain... Hail!
So, I entered Shizuoka easily. As I was running, I thought, "I'll get home before it's too late!...Sudden rain! It's been a long time since I've felt raindrops on this level!
Fortunately, there was a PA right after it started pouring, so we hurriedly slipped in. It was already full of riders who had evacuated due to the rain. So, I checked the rain cloud radar....
Is this the only place where it rains?
If we wait a little bit, the rain will stop for a while. I put on my rainwear and decided to take a break. It's a small PA, so there's not much to see, so I just took a walk around....
Hailstones are piled up on the roadside.
Well, this touring started with rain and ended with hail... and
And it looks like the route after this one is going to be rained out.
I'm feeling better, so let's move on.
The end of a trip that didn't involve much running.
Fortunately, we didn't encounter any torrential rain after that, but the nice weather in the morning was a lie.
We arrived at Ebina SA while it was still light, and we were as good as home.
When I got home, the sun had already set, but it was a very easy end to the trip. By the way, the orange one in the foreground is the adult toy #2 that was delivered just before GW, but it's been sitting in the parking lot since just after delivery and I haven't ridden it much.
So, due to bad weather, poor health, and a shortened schedule, I didn't cover as much distance as I had hoped, but I did cover a little less than 2,400 km."Going out to Heisei and coming back to 2042"GW ends with touring.
Next time, I may be able to secure up to 8 consecutive holidays in August... I want to go to Hokkaido!...
