I did see the first sunrise, though. In my room....
New Year's Eve. "Alexa, what time is the sunrise tomorrow?" I asked, and it was a little before 7:00. If you want to see the first sunrise in Higashi-Izu, you can easily get up at 3:30 and leave after 4:00!
Yeah. It was already just before sunrise when I woke up... And since I couldn't see the sunrise from my room due to the angle, I prepared to go out slowly while watching the scenery outside the window gradually getting brighter....
It's getting light outside. I'm not in a hurry to go out. I thought I'd wait until the temperature rose a little... So we left at around 10 a.m.... As usual, it was a disaster....orz
Take your usual route as usual.
As usual, I'm late to the party, but I'll start with my usual route from Tomei to Odashi.
I rode in the nice winter air with a cloudless view of Mt. Before I went out, I installed a PINLOCK® EVO lens on my helmet, but I couldn't find the breath guard and chin curtain, so it was a little cool inside the helmet. However, it felt just right.
We passed through the Atami area smoothly.
The opposite lane was pretty crowded with cars that probably came to see the first sunrise, but the direction to Izu was flowing smoothly, and we made it to Higashi-Izu smoothly. It's been a while since I've seen the ocean, and it's so beautiful.
Whenever I'm on a tour in time for the first sunrise, I usually stop by Ito Marine Town for free oshiruko (sweet red bean soup), but at this time of day, that event has probably already ended... We didn't take much of a break on the way to the beach, but we enjoyed touring along the coast on the Ninja 650.
From this time on, I didn't have my phone in the holder and used the intercom attached to my helmet for voice navigation, but since I knew the roads of Izu, I didn't have to rely on the navigation system.
Go to the hotel on a heated run.
Normally, I would have gone around Minami-Izu and circled the Izu Peninsula, but the sun sets early in winter. From Shimoda, I took Shizuoka Prefectural Road 121, Minami-Izu Matsuzaki Line towards Nishi-Izu. I headed north toward Fuji City, today's inn. Dusk on the way....
The temperature dropped drastically as the sun went down, so we turned on the heating equipment.
Driving through the dark city streets was no fun, so we took the Tomei highway from the Shimizu Interchange and headed for the inn.
End of New Year's Day after eating Yakiniku
So, I checked into the hotel.
It's a budget business hotel, but there's a TV on the wall at the foot of the bed, so I thought I'd watch a movie at night.....
By the way, I haven't eaten today.
I asked Google, and the only place in the neighborhood where I could eat on New Year's Day was some kind of fancy yakiniku restaurant....
I had no choice but to go to a yakiniku restaurant that was clearly designed for families and dinners.
In exchange for a New Year's gift, I ate a few rare parts....
When I got back to the inn, I played with the endangered robot for a bit....
I took a bath and went to bed quietly..... The first day of the New Year's touring was over.
