It's a three-day weekend, but I didn't go touring.

So the next day I couldn't get up and didn't go touring....
And the bike went to heavy maintenance.
The only bike ride was to a nearby store.
At the end of last year, I took my Ninja 650 to the store where I had the suspension repaired after about 33,000km.
It took some time for some of the stickers to come in from Kawasaki, so I asked them to do it in mid-December last year, but they started in mid-January after the new year.
If you buy from Monotarou, the genuine parts will arrive in a few days, but if you buy a reimported Ninja 650 (model: EX650EFF), some parts may not be in stock in Japan.
By the way, I found out about this from someone's tweet earlier.The ER-6N, which is the same type as the Ninja 650, has a different rear suspension for the first model between the overseas and domestic versions.I've already confirmed that.So maybe the sealing parts are different from those used on the common Ninja 400.
That's why the bike I have in my parking lot now is this one (a replacement).
Thoughts on switching from OHLINS to standard suspension
End of 2017.OHLINS rear suspension and front springs installed at a distance of less than 10,000km.The rear suspension could not be OH'd at a regular bike shop, and as of last year, I had to remove it and have it overhauled by Labo Carrozzeria, the most famous OHLINS service center. So I have been riding with the stock rear suspension all these years.
I'm not sure how much of it is due to the rear suspension, since I replaced the front and rear suspension at the same time.Immediately after the exchange, the performance improvement was a great joy.So this time, I'm going to write down my impressions of touring with a 22,000km old OHLINS back to the stock suspension that was used for less than 10,000km.
- When you're going straight on a well-paved surface.
Immediately after the conversion at the store, I felt like running about 2km in a straight line on the way home, but at this time I did not feel any difference due to the conversion. I didn't feel any difference at that time."Did they put a carpet over the asphalt?"So, I guess there is no difference between the degraded OHLINS and the stock suspension after the break-in process.
- When driving on rough pavement
This is where I felt the biggest difference. I can feel the roughness of the road surface more strongly. Even when driving in the same place, the road surface feels twice as rough as when passing by with OHLINS. Especially on the highway, when changing lanes and stepping on the repaired road surface, or on the downhill corner where the road surface has vertical grooves, I felt the rear bouncing and it was a little scary.
- Cornering
I actually didn't feel much difference in the cornering... I think the main reason is that the road surface is cold in winter and I don't enjoy driving around corners.
The suspension is made up of springs and dampers, and I think it is the dampers (oil, bushings and seals inside) that deteriorate the most, but I guess the force of the springs is more important during cornering.
If you can feel the difference on a rough road, it means that the suspension (damper) is not moving smoothly.
- Breaking (e.g. in sport)
So, I feel like there is a difference here... I didn't feel any difference. But I didn't feel any difference. I didn't do any hard braking, so it's not surprising.
In any case, the fact that I didn't feel a noticeable difference like I did right after the replacement makes me very curious to see how I feel when the rear suspension comes back from OH. I'm sure it will bring back the good ride I felt when it was new, but I wonder what the difference will be.
