This is a great bike, and it's easy to drive if you tie the laces so that they don't get tangled in the pedals, so I didn't buy any riding shoes. However, when I rode in Tokyo the other day in temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, it was indeed hot and I thought I needed mesh shoes.
So I thought, if I'm going to buy a pair of riding shoes, I might as well buy a pair of riding shoes and see how well they guard my ankles and heels.
