Test drive the other dayBMW R1200RS.
Test drive the F800RWhen I came back from the airport, this was ready for me in the parking space. I lost my boxer twin virginity.
”Would you like a ride?" He asked me. ”No, this.Even if I don't ride anymore, I understand. I'm sure it's good. But I'm on a budget." I said, "I don't know. No, this was the price when I did a web quote a long time ago.
”Well, I'd love to, but it's almost 3 million, right?" I said to him. ”For the blue/white model, the starting price without options is a little over 2 million." He said, "I'm sorry. It seems that I had included too many options.
”Well, let me borrow it for a moment." So I got in.
I got in.
It was a normal test drive, so it was just a quick ride. I just drove a few kilometers on ordinary roads in Tokyo. So, it is not very helpful. And as usual, this is the ramblings of an amateur.
This is the goal of the sports tourer. There will be no other vehicle to drive.
No, I think it probably is. Often."Once you ride a BMW bike, you can't ride anything else."I can understand why. I can understand why. There is a way to enjoy the bad parts of a motorcycle, like the old car hobby. But if you exclude that, there is no mass-produced motorcycle that has a higher quality as an industrial product than a BMW.
I love riding motorcycles, but I don't really like tinkering with them, so this is just the goal for me.
Lovely place.
All ......orz
No, really, it's not a motorcycle that I can fault.....orz
- Full of electronic control & safety features.
- It has the necessary and sufficient power performance and a great sense of security.
I wondered if I was driving at 60 km/h right now. Then I looked at the meter and saw that I was going the legal speed plus a secret kilometer. No matter how many licenses I have, it's not enough, right?
- The Heartbeat and Sound of a Boxer Twin
I'm happy to be able to control such a precise machine. The sound is also pleasant. I also love the way the car slightly swings from side to side when idling at a stoplight.
- High quality finish
The texture is so pleasing to the eye. Full of good tool feeling. The panels are perfectly aligned.
- Shaft drive
I had a Jamerican a long time ago that was shaft driven and didn't need chain maintenance, which made it easy. This is attractive.
Hmm? What is it?
Well, to a point. There are a few things.
- Analog speedometer + digital tachometer
You got it backwards!I think......
- The standard car has a low seat. The home country spec sheet is 50,000 yen.
I don't understand. No, as a short-legged Japanese, I can fully understand, but I think 50,000 yen for this is outrageous. By the way, when I test drove the car, I asked them to change the seats to the ones used in Japan.
- Do you need a quickshifter?
Is this an option that came with the test car? It's a system that allows you to change gears with just a pedal, without having to hold the clutch lever or return the gas pedal. ....... Do you need it? The clutch is light and I didn't feel the need for it.
- It's hard to put the bike in neutral, which is a common feature of the F800R.
Well, the fact that I can't find any user reviews that mention it here means that it's probably not a problem once you get used to it.
Conclusions.
I knew a guy who used to have three cars: a Lamborghini Diablo Iota (limited to 12 units worldwide), a Lamborghini LM002, and a Bentley Turbo R. He also had a Mercedes AMG for his wife. Then he got into cruisers, bought a boat, and settled down in his hobby. Well, even if he has settled down, he still drives Aston Martins and Bentleys, just not as many.
I have a feeling that I will end up like that person, though on a smaller scale. It hasn't been a year since I returned. I don't want to lose the sports tourer I want to drive at this point. I'll think about this when I'm a little older.
