"What I feel is missing from the Ninja 400(※)I think the Ninja 650 will fill the gap between the two.?"
I test rode the Ninja 650 to see how it felt after riding a few big bikes, and I'm glad I did.
※:It is easy to cruise at 100km/h on the highway, and the slow start has become a concern as I have gotten used to riding larger vehicles.
In terms of appearance, it's identical to the Ninja 400. The only difference is the 650 decal.
I got in.
It was a normal test drive, so it was just a quick ride. I just drove a few kilometers on ordinary roads in Tokyo. So, it is not very helpful. And as usual, this is the ramblings of an amateur.
Of course, it's not as fresh as other motorcycles I've rented or test ridden.
The test ride that was brought out to the store was a twin of the motorcycle that I usually ride. The position is familiar and the scenery is right in front of you. It has a digital meter."The speedometer is ticking up to 240km......"There is nothing like it. The weight of the car is also identical. We set off with a completely normal mind.
Lovely place.
- Start and cruise with plenty of time to spare
The engine produces 1.6 to 1.7 times more torque and power at lower rpm than the Ninja 400. Since the suspension is identical, the Ninja 400 is less impressive in terms of ground contact and stability.(I wonder if the setting is different. I felt that the suspension was a little stiffer.)What is it?When I accelerate as usual, I feel like I'm accelerating 20% faster than normal. If you ride at the same pace as the Ninja 400, the tachometer will read 1,000 to 1,500 rpm lower.

- Quiet exhaust note with added power.
The silencer is located directly under the rider, so the exhaust sound is quiet enough to be heard in the morning in a residential area, but still pleasant to the rider's ears.Great sound with emphasis on the bass due to the large displacement. This is the first time I've done this.
- Naturally, the Ninja 400's rideability is inherited.
Even discounting the fact that I'm used to it, the Ninja 400/650's"An easy tourer with a bit of a sporting feel."The position and ride quality are still excellent.
Hmm? What is it?
Now, do we switch?
It seems that the new model will be announced in a few months. If I could get a used one in the same color scheme that I like for about 50,000 more than the price difference between the 400's trade-in price and the price of a new one, I would replace it immediately.
Conclusion.:Waiting for the new model. If the new model comes out and the price of the current used one drops, I might consider replacing it.
