I am interested in 3-cylinder cars.MV AGUSTA STRADALE 800 the other dayI was not impressed with the YAMAHA MT-09 Tracer, but now I plan to rent a YAMAHA MT-09 Tracer for 24 hours.
So today I took the Street Triple for a test drive by chance.
When I went to ride the Ninja 650, the dealership I went to also carried Triumphs, so I was able to test ride one. The current Triumph full or half cowl tourer is called the TROPHY, which is a little too big for street riding, so I wasn't planning to test ride it.
On an overseas motorcycle information siteThere is also a scoop that the next Street Triple, which will be an 800cc model, will have a half cowl model, so we have high hopes for it.
I got in.
It was a normal test drive, so it was just a quick ride. I just drove a few kilometers on ordinary roads in Tokyo. So, it is not very helpful. And as usual, this is the ramblings of an amateur.
There are three variations of the Street Triple, the 85, S and R. This time I rode the most basic model, the 85. The S and R have undergone minor changes this year, but the 85 seems to be the same as when it first debuted.
By the way, my image of Triumph is wrong, it's a manufacturer that produces retro models with cool old tank badges..... I think they are in the same group as Norton......
Lovely place.
- Good 3-cylinder; good combination of 2- and 4-cylinder.
It is a wonderful engine that responds linearly to the opening and closing of the accelerator pedal with a light, discrete pulse that is felt as the rpm rises. Before the test drive, the staff at the store ”The BMW parallel twin is made by Rotax, so this engine is better than the F800." I'm not surprised that they said that.
- "In town."fast
The car is compact and light, so it has great acceleration from the start, and unlike heavy cars, you can open the throttle with ease. I think it is very good at stop and go in town. I don't know how it is on the highway because I haven't ridden it. I have a feeling that it will be a tiring bike because it needs to be sporty.
- Easy-to-read meters
Digital speed + analog tach is the easiest to read.
- L type air valve
I'm the type of person who pays a lot of attention to air pressure, but gas stations often don't have I-type air valves. I'll replace the valve with an L-type next time I change my tires.
- price
List price is less than 1 million. It is competitively priced compared to domestic competitors. Used cars that have just finished breaking in are attractively priced. The price of a used car that has just finished breaking in is very attractive.
Hmm? What is it?
- Design
If you like that face, you'll love the design, but it's a bit too aggressive for the old man....... Also, the rear of the bike is kind of featureless, it would be cool if the silencer came out from under the seat like the Daytona 675 or Sprint ST.
- "85"The naming of the "Mere Old Man" comes from the fact that the maximum output of the Japanese version is limited to 85ps.
It's got plenty of horsepower, and no thanks to the horsepower/displacement supremacy of the bike choice, but this one is a bit atrocious:..... Why not just go with the Street Triple 675?
- Long distance touring with this model is tough.
I'm not sure how to classify it, but I guess it's a StoFy. I've changed the handlebars to deal with the forward lean, and installed a touring screen to prevent wind.... Even if you do this, it seems that the energetic engine won't allow you to run at a brisk pace. I wonder if the next half cowl model will be a tourer model including the engine characteristics......
I'd like to have it, though:.....
I get off the bike, switch to my Ninja 400, and leave the bike shop on the sidewalk for the fast-moving, two-lane national highway. ....... I'm not accelerating:.... There's a car behind me:...... I'm sure you'll agree. I need sharp, yet safe acceleration to get going.
It is lightweight, compact, and powerful, making it the perfect companion for city riding and short touring trips, including the price. If you can have a separate tourer:..... I want one:.....
