This is what the Ninja 400 was lacking.
Past ArticlesAs I've written in my previous article, the Ninja 400 was my favorite bike to ride, even after riding many rental bikes.
It's not enough...... There are only two points I was thinking about.
- Although it doesn't matter once you're on the road.Sluggish start。
It's a relief, but I hope you can do better.
- At 100km/h on the highway5,200 rpm. frequently.Searching for the Phantom 7-SpeedIt will be .....
Both of these problems can be solved with torque and power (gear ratio), and I thought that a large displacement sports tourer would be the best way to fill this gap.
So, I rode a good distance on many bikes looking for one that should be increased: .... And.
So, it is true that large displacement cars are easy to drive on the highway and have a fast start, but ....... In exchange for this, many cars are a little too overpowered for me to rev the engine and drive around on winding roads....... In exchange for the comfort of getting to your destination, I have a feeling that you will have less fun in the mountains or on country roads.......
So, I ended up replacing my NInja 400 with a 650 (older model) of the exact same design.
Nice!
- I really like this shape.
When I saw the design of the new Ninja 650, I said to myself, "Oh~, for the time being, the Ninja Corps is going to have a cool ZX-style design......" That's what I thought. It's cool, though: ....
I felt it when I saw the actual car in the store."The design seems to have been achieved at the expense of touring performance to some extent."is a bit different from my taste. The compact body feels a little small for my size.
When I think about it.There was a car model that could get more power without changing the design. That's a super lucky thing, isn't it?
- More torque, more power
It's fast enough even with the current 6,000 rpm limit. I feel like I can open the throttle as much as I want.
I haven't done any long distance driving on the highway yet, so I don't know how good it is for cruising in the overtaking lane, but at least on the open road, it has enough torque and power that I can't fully unleash its full potential. I've only driven the Chichibu area and the Doshimichi winding road, but the fluttering feeling and the feeling of being able to turn the gas pedal quickly are still at a comfortable level that even I can handle.
So, I feel that many of the frustrations I had with the NInja 400 have now been resolved, and the switch has been a great success.
I don't like it!
On the other hand, of course, there are some points that I don't like.
- It's hot in the summer, the engine.
I totally forgot about this: ...... The amount of heat generated by the engine feels 1.5 times higher than our 400 ....... However, it is not at the level of "I can't ride in the city in the summer ...." as I felt with Ducati and others. But it's not the same level as the Ducati .......
A phone mounted inside the cowl can't be charged when driving in the city due to heat from the engine. It was a blind spot for me.
- It would have been nice to have a little more car size.
I'm 177cm tall (short legs), and I'd feel more comfortable with a larger bike. It looks like the bike is a bit small for my body size........ The other dayGSX-S1000F that I was allowed to ride on Mr. Green Lover's vehicle.I'll be renting a pair of these soon.
Plans for the three-day weekend: ........
The next step is to finish breaking in the car after 1,600km. Since the benefit of the 2,500 yen expressway is limited to Utsunomiya on the Tohoku Expressway, I will take the downward road from Nikko to the Sea of Japan via Yamagata Prefecture...... Plan for the next step
I'm looking forward to riding the Nishi-Azuma Sky Valley~Zao Echo Line~Chokai Blue Line!
I thought it would be ...... Apparently the weather isn't so good ...... Especially in Tohoku, the forecast is for perfect rain: ......... I bought a tent and a sleeping bag, so I thought I could take a bath at the hot spring, eat at the local barbecue restaurant, and then sleep on the side of the road. ...... I want to avoid rainy camping because I still don't have any other gear: .....
What should I do? ..... I was looking at the weather forecast on my phone, thinking ...... I noticed that my hand had booked a hotel in Toyama Prefecture on its own.
If you use the expressway, it is a half-day touring distance, but if you take a detour on the way down, you can drive almost 1,000 km in two days.
Well, it's supposed to rain on Sunday in Nagano and Toyama too, but the forecast is better than Tohoku. I'll stop by Workman or something on the way to buy rainwear.
I'll have to make an appointment for an oil change on Monday.......
