The plan from last night was to get up early and take the Kanetsu to Gunma, Nagai Diner.(link to food log)The plan was to eat a motsu-ni (stewed pork) morning meal at a local restaurant and then run.
Motsunikomi (stewed tuna) at Nagai Shokudo, taken from Wikipedia.
So I woke up early for me, but I'm still feeling full from the pork soy milk nabe I ate last night. ...... So I saved the stewed pork for next week, and went to Chichibu today. It might be cold in the mountains, so I wore a leather jacket, T-shirt, and safety shoes. I also had winter gloves and a long sleeve fleece in my seat bag. .....
It was already extremely hot at 10 a.m. when I was driving down the road near Fussa/Yokota Air Base, and the maximum temperature during the day seemed to have reached about 28 degrees Celsius. ...... However, it was too hot to go home to get a mesh jacket. Believing that it would be cooler in the mountains, we continued on R299. Our first stop wasRoadside Station: Fruit Tree Park Ashigakubo。
さIt's October. There are clearly more motorcycles here than in the middle of summer. It's still hot here, so after rehydrating, we continue on.
However, unlike in the city, once we were on the road, the driving wind made it somewhat comfortable. We quickly arrived at Chichibu and continued on.Looking at the map, it looks like we can get through to Nagano or Gunma. So we just kept going. In the meantime, a fork appeared.
Now, here's a quiz.
I tried both, and they were both dead ends.
I was told by a rider coming down the R299 that the gate was closed in the mountains. That's a terrible road.
In the direction of Kawakami Village is the rumored Nakatsugawa Forest Road. It seems to be impossible except for off-road vehicles.
What is it? Is it the quality of my daily conduct?Restrictions on private cars on the Southern Alps Highway last weekI can't run the planned course following the "W".
I had no choice but to park my bike at a day spa at the end of the road and take a bath.
Then, the second question.
Legionella!
So, we were operating on tap water.....orz
I was already ready to take a bath, so I did........
After getting out of the bath, we headed back the way we came, towards Yamanashi. We took a break on the way.Roadside Station MitomiThe flag that you get when you spend more than 1,000 yen at the store was attractive, but I didn't get it.
So I took this road from R20 to R246 and went home easily.
I had two incomplete tours, so next time I'll do some research and plan before I go.
