I can't stand the western sun......
As I mentioned before, the sun is low at this time of year and I often feel dazzled when riding my bike......
When I was touring in Hamamatsu on New Year's Day, I had a scary time because I couldn't see in front of me on the Tomei Expressway....... If you go out touring, the return trip is often at night, and even in normal travel, there are many opportunities to ride after the sun goes down, so the smoke shield can not be introduced ..... I've been using the SHOEI J-Cruise for a while now, and it has an inner sun visor, but the jet helmet is cold in the winter.....
I use glasses, so I can't carry sunglasses around with me........ So I bought this one on impulse.
It's common with sunglasses.Light-controlling shield that changes color in response to UV light levelsit is.
”Features of the "CWR-1 Photochromic" shield
- Photochromic shields have the ability to develop color when exposed to ultraviolet rays. It becomes brighter in environments where the amount of UV light is low, such as on cloudy days or when the sun is low in the early morning or at dusk.
- The intensity of the coloration depends on temperature, weather, UV light level, and riding position.
- In winter, when the temperature is lower, the color is generally darker and takes longer to fade than in summer. The color will darken more under strong ultraviolet light.
It looks like this.
In the evening indoors, the light is weak, but the color comes out pretty quickly. When the shield is transparent, it is indistinguishable from a normal shield at a glance.
It's a little out of focus because the room is in the picture.
That's why I went out with it today."I don't know why I didn't buy it sooner."It's perfect for sun protection. When I raise my shield at a traffic light or something, I'm surprised at the glare.
There were places where we entered tunnels on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway, but as long as the tunnels were lit, it was not difficult to see.
On the way back, we stopped by the 2Rinkan as usual......
Put your helmet in the coin locker......At this time, the shield was pretty black.
After checking the price of the tires in the store and checking the tire pressure as usual, I took out my helmet and it looked like this.
This is what the shield color looks like at around 4:00 p.m., when the sun is about to set.
The disadvantage is that it is difficult to see (or rather, find quickly) traffic lights (especially in the distance) until you get used to them, and when you are riding with a great view of the ocean or mountains, you need to raise the shield to enjoy the natural colors, but this is a good purchase.
The J-Cruise inner shield was a little too dark for me, so I didn't end up using it much......
So far, it is only compatible with the Z-7 and X-Fourteen, but functionally, it is recommended. However, the dimming function is said to degrade, so I'm not sure how long I can use it. I'm not sure. For the price, I hope it will last for two seasons.
